    In most circles, admitting to being a pedophile is not the best thing to admit being. They consider it disgusting at best and immoral at worst, and it's easily one of the most effective accusations to place on someone. So, you waltz into here, casually remark that you are a pedo, and outright state that it's a normal trait to you, not some awful disorder that most normal people would be ashamed of. Expecting indifference out of that is not the most sane expectation to have.
