    Done with Emi's route. Well, one ending. It looks like the alternate routes have more content than Hanako's alternate routes.

    EDIT: Or not. The paths just re-merge.

    Only sexual content, which should be possible to turn off, if that isn't your cup of tea. The topic of the VN has the potential to be be tasteless when handled wrong, that's not the case in the first act. Considering it's roots, it's surprisingly handled well and I'm optimistic enough to believe that's also the case with the rest of the novel.

    Man, everyone has KS but me. Considering that I do my apprenticeship at a vocational training center for disabled people, it would be quite appropriate for me to have it, so I should be one of the first to get it. If my connection just wouldn't suck so much...

    Yes, I'm aware that this reasoning makes absolutely no sense at all.

    Yeah. There are a few bad ends, but if you're on Emi's route and you don't completely screw it up, the last few scenes are the same no matter how you got there.

    Going randomly, Emi's the most likely person to get, I believe. Something like a 25% chance, but with six outcomes to act one, that makes it by far the most probable.

    Started playing blind last night, and finished Rin's route. I'll avoid spoiling anything for now, though. Missing a scene from act 3, which is the last one from the route that I need.

    Emi was also the one I got first when I read the first act for the first time.

    I'll try to go for Hanako first, but I don't remember how I did it back then in the first act demo, so it's likely that I'll mess up.

    Finished Hanako's route. The ending was awesome, though it felt a bit abrupt.

    Probably either going to go with either Shizune or Emi next.

    There was a long debate about whether visual novels are games, and I was actually genuinely wondering what game people were talking about, until the thread was rerailed.

    Supposedly, gamebook is actually the general name for all books that
    have the progression of the story determined by choices the reader makes
    throughout it.  So it includes those, but also includes the Choose Your
    Own Adventure series and other similar books.


    I guess this means that visual novels are like e-gamebooks.

    Somehow, Shizune is even more obnoxious than I remembered. Then again, when I read the first act for the first time, I wasn't aware just how ridiculously competitive she is, of course.

    I wonder if I'll ever attempt her route. Back then, when I read the first act, many people said that you will find her more sympathetic when you go through here route, but since I did that I actually like her less.

    Finished Emi's Route.

    I cried manly tears at the good ending.

    Now i'm trying to do Lilly's route, than Shizune's, than Hanako's, and finally Rin's.

    I wish there was a harem or ultimate ending that ties all the plots together somehow.

    ^^Pretty sure those endings are mostly just for the ones where the only "plot" is "how do we get to the next sex scene?"

    Hanako's route got at one time so depressing that I needed a break. Or maybe that was because I only read for a short time until I do a break (just as I only play Minecraft in short, but many, sessions). Well, actually it wasn't that depressing (which makes it very likely that it's the latter), but it made me feel bad for her.


    And just when I feared that Akira wouldn't appear on Hanako's route at all, she appears and proceeds to be awesome. As I suspect that she appears on Lilly's route more often (being her sister and all), I hope that she doesn't appear too often, otherwise she steals her sister's spotlight too much.


    Hanako getting smashed was more amusing than it should have been.


    Also, I think that the thread title isn't very fitting anymore.

    Yeah, Hanako's route was pretty depressing, moreso than any other I've read so far.

    Judging from the hints that I got so far, I suspect that the fire that scarred her (among other things) happened on her birthday. I don't know it (yet), but it seems pretty obvious.

    There are a lot of things in several of the routes that you will figure out a long time before Hisao does. He's kinda dumb sometimes.

    Rin's route is, I've heard, the most depressing. I've just started Act 3, and it does seem a bit darker than the others.

    Finished Hanako's route on the good ending (I think). I'm kind of curious about the bad ending, but I can't bring myself to do it just yet (at least not right after I got the good one) and I'm curious about Lilly's route.


    When I saw Akira and Hideaki together I thought for a moment that AkiraXHideaki was made official (after people shipped them for a long time already) and wondered if he isn't a bit too young for her. But their actual relationship, or rather what that means for Lilly's and Shizune's relationship. is more interesting. I expect more fights between them, but I'm not sure what to think about it (if only because the less I see of Shizune, the better).


    I kind of want Akira to appear more often. She may be actually a sis, but she is more of a bro then Kenji could possibly be.


    Also, I'm not sure what to think about Hideaki, but I doubt that I'll like him. Just like his sister...

    The bad endings I've seen are...short. Generally along the lines of Hisao going "I made the wrong choice, and now we'll never be more than friends." Fade to black. Roll credits.


    Though I hear some routes aren't like that.
