Summons were pretty good in 2. I didn't use them much though.

"Hellfire" is the song that produced this video, right?

    The one at 0:45? Yes.

    Alternatively

2:58 Skip 3:35 to 3:56 if you end up watching the whole thing.
  • You can change. You can.
Summons were near-useless for the whole game and Aero only made things easier, but was (as far as I know) never necessary. The only spell you absolutely needed was Cure/Cura/Curaga (except in special cases where you needed some spell for a puzzle or something).

I dunno, I mean, Chernabog was almost impossible for me without Tinker Bell casting Cura on me every few seconds and Aero busting up the defense.

Could be just me, I guess

Although I was thinking mostly of stuff like the secret bosses, but I guess that'd be moving the goalposts, anyway >.>

Oh hell yeah. The secret bosses, in all the games, are levels harder than the main game bosses.

Just you. I stomped him on my most recent run without breaking a sweat. Cast Aero...once, then got bored.

I think the only times I cast Aero more than once in that run was Rikunort and Phantom, and Phantom only because of the energy he gobs at you.

Managed to kill me when I only had to hit him once more, that fucking gob did. Ran out of ethers because of poor resource allocation on my part.

Only time I used summons was against Kurt Zisa, and that was Tink.

I haven't played the original Kingdom Hearts in many years, so I barely remember.
  • Fun fact: it took me 9 years to beat Sephiroth in the first game.

That's what happens when you go away and don't play the game for 8 years.

Well, I only played it twice. Didn't use Tinker Bell the second time, but I thought that was because I had gotten used to the game and so on, as well as knowing the fight pretty well based on the first run.

^Sephiroth gets easy with a certain spell that starts with A~
  • That was my second full run through the game. Ever.

Don't be a bitch. Real men beat him to death with Limits and Physical Attacks.

I really grew to detest Young!HJO's voice in that game.

    And those goddamn clown shoes.
  • You don't need Aero at all for Sephiroth. Though it makes it easier.  Mostly, just have Second Chance and MP Rage, and then whenever your health gets low, get away from Sephiroth and use Curaga.  And then you really shouldn't die unless you screw up and fail to stop him from using Heartless Angel or something.

    >Limits.
    >In a fight where you're airborne.

    You're kidding, right?

You don't need Aero at all for Sephiroth. Though it makes it easier.

dude kills you in two hit. Aero buys you an extra hit.

I don't see how this is not worthy enough to use it all the time in that fight.
  • >Limits.
    >In a fight where you're airborne.

    What, Sephiroth?
  • You can change. You can.
I thought we were discussing Chernabog.
  • Well, sir, your thought processes led you to a false conclusion.
  • No rainbow star
Wait, Kingdom Hearts is 9 years old?
  • No rainbow star
    ...God I feel old now
  • I was 7 when I first played that game.

    Mentally I'm still about 2.

Yeah I was about 7-8. I remember I took the game from my big brother, and got hooked.
  • We got a PS2 specifically so I could play that game.
