    Pinkie's...kind of a hit or miss. She's either a part of a really great
    gag or annoying. Personally, I think the fandom handles her better than
    canon.

    Very much so.  Fanworks tend to either distill her insanity in just the right ways, or give her moments of surprise lucid wisdom that kind of crystallize everything else.  Or both.
