    Unless they sold it to another preorder customer who came in before you, I guess.  Maybe.  I don't know how preorders work--does that mean they're guaranteeing that you'll get a copy on release day?  If so, there should be a "what if" clause to such a guarantee.

    Maybe if they had received more pre-order requests than actual collector's editions in stock, but then they should have at least said that it would take a while before a new shipment of collector's editions came in or something.

    Not that I wouldn't put it past Gamestop to actually sell off someone's order like Chagen implied, with all the ranting people do about them, but in this case it's totally understandable.

    I work at Gamestop, and while I do agree that they do some very not nice things, to think that any company would sell off something a customer paid for and still be a standing establishment and not face legal action, is crazy.

    Okay, it looks like some dumbass didn't pick up his own copy at another Gamestop,so my mom will pick it up on Saturday.

    Also, the $10 pre-order charge can actually be exchanged for credit. I know own Katamari Damacy and We Love Katamari thanks to this.

    Amazon did get me European copies of Quake IV and Red Alert 2 (with original box art, Twin Towers included, to boot!), but those are the only games I got from them that I actually liked.

    Most of my library is on Steam anyhow.

    ^The fact that you can pick up someone else's pre-order copy sounds plain idiotic. Isn't the point of pre-ordering to guarantee that you have a copy reserved for you on release?

    I always preorder online, so it gets sent straight to my house. Usually before release date. I got Fable II a WEEK before it came out.
