"Talk to your Therapist."

edited 2011-08-12 17:58:29 in General
I'm sick and tired of hearing this remark i'm just sick and tired of it! I can't take this remark anymore if I could see a therapist I would. But I can't! I don't have access to a therapist let alone on  command! What od you people think I can just poof one up? That I can summon a therapist? Well I can't. I'm a dependent. I'm lower-middle class. I don't know how to set such a thing up. I wouldn't6 know where to go or how to get there. Especially since I can't drive. What do you people expect?

Comments

  • When people say this, what they mean is "We're not qualified to deal with these sorts of things; take it up with someone who is."
  • It's just so frustrating. I can't take it up with someone who is. NOt to mention hat htey wouldn't understand in the slightest wheras the people I do try and take it up with usually7 have some sort of understanding. The Therapist was not involved in the issue and thus really can't do anything to help. they have no connection to the problem or its source they're not qualified.
  • Except they would understand because it's their job to understand. They're like detectives but for your crazy brain.

And I think you'll find they are very, very qualified.
  • To add to that, they are a more impartial source than the self.

    "I'm a dependent. I'm lower-middle class."

I am really surprised to hear that.

  • Why are you surprised Abyss?
  • Electric Boogaloo
You sound really worked up about this. Have you tried talking to your therapist about it?
  • Your rhetoric made you out to be someone self-sufficient and well off. I am aware of how easy it is to say you can put in the effort when you are not actually doing so, but still.
  • You assume too much that's why I am confused as to why my ideals come off as the ideals of a greedy noble. I just wnat to get by without interferance.

More like your ideals come off as narcissistic and solipsistic, particularly due to your It's All About Me attitude.
  • If you want to understand the reasoning behind this phrase, It's pretty easy..

All you have to do is...

    Talk to your Therapist.

here's the thing I don't mind helping my neighbors helping my loved ones and helping others in general Abyss. it's just the way it's being done i have certain moral objections iwht. its means not ends. Again i'm also a hardcore individualist so that plays a role in it. Admittedly I do have that little problem of narcissism at times but I do want to do good.I was inspired by my US History class to find my identity in that regard and I soon became enamored  with liberal Icons like Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Paine, John Locke, Lysander Spooner, Murray Rothbard, et cetera.  I studied classical liberalism intently trying to find where it fit in my country's spectrum. I studied  the means to achieve it. Life, liberty, and property.  the only way to handle this is to recognize the freedom of the individual. I started to observe how our system became divided how we became almost a strange hybridization of socialism and corporatism. honestly I think the system needs a new name or there needs to be a better word for a free market. Call it what you will but unlike what everyone seems ot think I believe. I do wish for htis to work for everyone.

    ~♥YES♥~! I *AM* a ~♥cupcake♥~! ^_^
    I read that as:

    "Talk to your The Rapist".

    No idea why.

In any case, you should talk to someone; just about anyone, really. And above all else, LISTEN TO WHAT PEOPLE TELL YOU.

The funny thing about flaws is that often times we can't see them ourselves. We know they are there, but may have difficulty acknowledging them and specifying them.

  • Mostly because we tend to not want to know.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
    Can I lock this, please?

Is it something I said? Because I'll stop if that's the case.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
No, it's the premise of the thread, and it's already been flagged.
  • Yeah, go ahead. It's not really going anywhere.
  • I'm sorry Cygan.
If someone can please explain the issue I owuld be glad to cooperate.
