and there's actually much debate as to whether Vlad III was the basis for Dracula. the only real connection is that Stoker found the name in an old book and kind of liked it. he was originally going ot name his vampire Count Wampyr. and if Dracula is based on anyone it's Sir Henry Irving.

as well someo f the earliest recorded mentions of vampires in writing were between 1047 and  1167 centuries before Vlad III was even born.

OP could be in reference to vampires, elves, ninjas, wizards, demons, or any creature.

In short, it's stupid reason not to watch something because one fictional creature is not completely like another fictional creature with the same name.
