It's only 300 years off track!
Damn it, juztgirlythingz, you had to make me curious about that movie, didn't you?
Note: If you don't know a single thing about A Serbian Film (lucky you), then I highly recommend not looking it up. Ever.
Girl gorehounds are too rare, methinks.
/obligatory Ironweaver post
I actually liked A Serbian Film and many people I know did too.
It's one of those movies that can't really be understood by anyone outside of its country of origin, as it's heavily allegorical. A person from Serbia will be able to make subconscious connections and see it as an extremely poignant allegory of the way they feel, while a foreigner would see nothing but a big gratuitous gorefest.
If A Serbian Film really is meant to be a giant metaphor for life in Serbia, then holy fuck, you guys are much worse off than I thought...

It's not that bad in the material sense - a person with a more-or-less average amount of money, like myself, will have enough for his basic needs but not much more than that. It kind of sucks, but it's not like we're starving or anything, and the socialist legacy is still living on so we have mostly free education and healthcare, which helps.
But there is a general feel of hopelessness and cynicism, constant feeling of getting fucked over by everyone - your government, your country, foreign and supranational institutions etc, and no real prospects of a better future - for all it's worth, it's really surprising how the country hasn't gone bankrupt long ago and how the economy still manages to survive even though we practically have no industry left (everything was destroyed during the failed privatization process) and the only significant export products are software and raspberries.
We're fucked in many ways, and it's practically what the movie was about.
... Nope, still not gonna watch it.
And you shouldn't. Like I said, it really isn't meant for foreigners as most of them won't understand the point or "feel" the movie the way it was meant to be. The only thing you will see is lots of gore.
>convince hipster friends to watch movies à la 100 Days of Sodom, Philosophy of A Knife and A Serbian Film based on the fact that viscerality is only to underline the misery of its subject matter-thus, not wanting to watch it is like turning a blind eye towards the tragedies in the world

Gives a whole new meaning to Hot Coffee Mod.
No wonder Gingrich was using Adelson as a sugar daddy; look how freakin' rich he is.
Didn't Gates and Buffet donate a large part of their wealth?
For them, it's basically just like what giving spare change to a random beggar on the street is for us.
No, I mean a really big proportion. Give me a sec... Here it is.
