I actually think the Green Goblin makes a lot more sense/seems less silly in a Steampunk or Medieval environment.
The Green Goblin was never about making sense though. It was all about Norman having an excuse to let his Id run wild and wreck shit.
But you cannot deny the fact that Gobby's design is classy as hell.
