    I've never cried at just listening to a song. Though a good musical score can certainly help something else move me to tears. (Ilya's theme. ;_;)

    Oooh, LOTR got to me too. But what got to me was the "My friends...you bow to no one." line rather than Boromir's death, because fuck him.

    ^^^ Well, the song by itself, just from listening to it, never does it; it's more pondering on the lyrical themes or imagining fitting imagery. Or if it's being used to augment a scene.

    I'm more likely to cry of laughter than of sadness. That being said, I don't think it matters if you physically shed tears, as a strong emotional response is enough.

    On a side note, then there are moments like the ending of Bohemian Rhapsody or BIT.TRIP FLUX where it's supposed to be a sad conclusion, and yet instead I get some strange feeling of inner peace resulting from emotional release.
