The Accurate Thread For Children Of The '90s

  • This place has less "I hate this topic so I am going to create a lot of drama to get it nuked", and less "Let's report this thread because I think it's stupid and watch it get nuked" and less "where the fuck did X thread go?"

It also is more niche so it makes it more difficult to attract people we don't want here.

That also helps make a opened closed community setting so we can invite people we know over that are trustworthy and not just have people drop in out of nowhere and cry about how their highschool life sucks because this girl that doesn't even know they exist won't talk to them.

And also helps make it so that serious business topics don't generate sniping, drama and "that fucking troper again" derails.
  • "less "where the fuck did X thread go?" "

    Fortunately.
  • Actually, Tnophelia pretty much nailed it.

The drama that led to IJBM I's demise seemed to be one of the main things that defined IJBM. We don't have that here; it's just a place to discuss things, with the premise being that they bug you.

Not that it's inherently better or worse than IJBM I...just different.
  • I actually like it more than the original, now.
  • Me too, I think.

I dunno.  I'll have to give it a little bit of time, since I've only been here a few days.  But it's been fun.
Like the original IJBM, but with less stupid.

Well less of bad stupid anyway.

Also, minusing all of the EncyclopediaDramatica fanwankery and gushing that followed. Everytime that place was mentioned somebody would update the entries on Posters of Note, or we would get our troper pages blanked, or somebody would start going all ED Warrior and throwing terms like Butthurt, >implying, Deal With it and other assinine memes to be a fuckface in serious and delicate threads
  • I actually like it more than the original, now.

Me too. At least partly because the people here are the people I liked from the original.

Like the original IJBM, but with less stupid.

Well less of bad stupid anyway.

That's...a good way to describe it, actually. If we had signatures here, I'd steal that. (You're the second person I've said this to.)
  • I like this place because everyone is concentrated into one place.
  • Does that make us an easier target?
  • edited 2011-02-04 02:38:12
^^^Put it in the link here in your sig or something.
  • Aw, but I have that thing about the girl named Charlotte in my sig now.

I'll make that my next sig.
  • HEheheh. I feel so safe here with you guys.

Is it weird that I keep all my past forum signatures in a txt file with all my sockpuppet passwords?

(Unfortunately, it only goes back as far as "Why do I type nonsensical things?", whenever that was)
  • Nah, not weird really.

I think I might start doing that actually.

Well if I ever change my signature.  I really like it as-is though.  Even if it doesn't fit really anymore since the loli derail squad hasn't loli derailed in an eternity.  Evilneko hasn't even posted outside of Kagami Hiiragi snuggling with onions in like almost a month I think...

I save all of my personal information in txt files too. :P

^ Sorry about being so hard on you about that DYRE. In the past and IJBM.
  • Wait what?  You were hard on me about... something I said in that post?

    -remembers it not-

    Remind me?
  • I generally only save the ones that are quotes from someone. Here's the list so far (with TVTropes markup because I'm a lazy ass):

'''Me:''' Why do I type nonsensical things?\\
'''Arha:''' If you can't entertain others, at least you can amuse yourself.

"This is TVTropes. Everyone over-analyzes everything [...] but when jokes get involved, it can get absurd." -- @/LizardBite

"I shall take pride in my manlinesslessness!" --@/TsundeRay\\
"Growing up is lame. I suggest we don't do it." --@/ImipolexG

  • Oh DYRE, why did you delete your pre-colored Yotsuba avatars?
  • edited 2011-02-04 02:49:23
Oh, do you want them for some reason?  I just took them off the site because they looked kind of ugly in my gallery, plus I didn't want like 4 of essentially the same avatar.

I still have them all on my computer though.
  • My massive breakdown on Lolicon December.
  • ^^No, just asking.
  • edited 2011-02-04 02:53:40
    ^^ I still don't remember... :/

I guess I couldn't have been too offended, then, if I don't remember.

Or I just had my memory wiped.  I dunno.

^ Ah, okay.  But yeah, I still have them.  I would feel weird about actually deleting them.
  • "WE MIGHT AS WELL RENAME THIS PLACE LOLITROPES" was one of my favorite Tnophelia lines, though.
  • Jeez, it's 3 AM and I must be lonely I need to get some sleep.

    Good night, y'all.
  • edited 2011-02-04 02:56:51
    GOODNIGHT CA!

    Incidentally, I really should too.
    But I won't yet because I'm stupid.
  • Bye.

Also changed my avatar. Always did like this mischievous expression.
  • AU's avatar is a Toehoe now?

    That's unexpected.
  • But I'd been wanting to use it and couldn't find an opportunity to until a "rabbit" theme arose. Not having any other bunnies, I picked this one.
  • Ah.  I see.

    ...a rabbit theme?
  • IDK MY BFF AVATAR THREAD?
