How people want all video games to have a sequel
Even when the story is completely self contained, or there's no way to improve on the first game's gameplay, or the development team has long since split up. And it's never just one sequel. The developers could make 10 sequels and people would be begging for the 11th.
It reeks of a desperate plea to relive the memories of playing the original game for the first time.

As long as the sequel isn't bad or somehow brings down the quality of its predecessor(s) (which, admittedly, becomes a taller and taller order with every successive installment), and as long as there are good ideas to be put into it (as opposed to just making a sequel solely because of fan demand), I say bring it on.

Yes, that's kind of the issue. There's no such thing as leaving things on a high note in the gaming industry.
On the other hand, I can't help but be glad Gargoyle's Quest was a trilogy.
Thank God for that, huh?
Also it's getting a sequel, maybe.
I know when I want a sequel to a game, it's primarily because I enjoy the style of game play, but want new environments to explore and new challenges.
(I also like seeing more of the characters and continuations of the plot, if there was one.)
EDIT: Okami might count as a recent one! Any others?
Oh you Americans, needing to have all the answers. How do you make it through life with such a glaring flaw?
Also, calling those "unanswered questions" is a bit of a stretch. I'm not saying they've been answered--I'm saying I don't see what the question is.
Exactly! It's why we killed Osama bin Laden. We needed to know if he was dead or not.
