    For example, Small Name Big Ego is on there even though it can be a
    perfectly valid and objective character trope within the context of the
    story, but it's there because people used it on folks like Tim Buckley
    (my personal solution would be to outlaw any usage of this trope on Real
    Life figures).

    That's why we have the invoked tag.

    We created a tag so examples of YMMV that were inuniverse didn't had to have the word "invoked" shoehorned in the example.

    Technically, it's In-Universe that turns off the tag.  I think WhatGoesWhereOnTheWiki is the page that has the guidelines for when it's appropriate to use.
