    The thing that bugs me about the new version of the home page was that the exclusive sentence replaced the inclusive "We welcome the odd snarky comment". I liked it better when the wiki wasn't (supposed to be) about taking sides, just cataloguing tropes. Making celebrating fiction part of the mission is taking a biased position.

    I didn't like the wiki being "SELTZER AND FRIEDBERG SUCK, OKAY", but I certainly wouldn't want it to be "OMG WATCH HARUHI NAO PLZ!" either. Excessive gushing may be less annoying, but it is still annoying.

    The problem with Fast Eddie's policies is how reactionary and haphazard they are. 

    This is how we get such inconsistencies as both the Fridge namespace and the JustBugsMe (now called Headscratcher) namespace existing at once, even though they both serve the exact same purpose. Not to mention the Old Folks Home, which was created solely in response to a snowclone trend in Yack Fest that probably would've been over within an hour under normal circumstances.

    Yeah, one entire namespace for about three different tropes. They could just as easily fit those tropes into the YMMV namespace, and besides, the Headscratcher namespace is all about Fridge Logic anyway.

    Oh, while I think the namespace should disappear, I don't think it should disappear because its redundant (It really isn't) but I think it should be nuked because it's simply a Fan Wank namespace in disguise. 

    And if it's not Fan Wank, its simply about saying stuff that a drunk five year old who was hit on the head by a brick would figure out.

It's all about what will quell the problems of the moment (inasmuch as they're actually problems), rather than what will prevent the problems of the future.
