"We are also not a wiki for bashing things"
I liked TVTropes better when we were allowed to show off how snide and sarcastic we could be.
Comments
The thing that bugs me about the new version of the home page was that the exclusive sentence replaced the inclusive "We welcome the odd snarky comment". I liked it better when the wiki wasn't (supposed to be) about taking sides, just cataloguing tropes. Making celebrating fiction part of the mission is taking a biased position.
^^ That is Myrmidon's polite state, GIW.
v That is his unpolite state.
I didn't like the wiki being "SELTZER AND FRIEDBERG SUCK, OKAY", but I certainly wouldn't want it to be "OMG WATCH HARUHI NAO PLZ!" either. Excessive gushing may be less annoying, but it is still annoying.
Here's a jewel of advise: Fucking do it. Do it, I double fucking dare you. If you need to complain that much, start posting the threads here. Start doing the reviews here. Start posting the festering hatred of everything you dislike here. It will be okay and fine, we will enable you.
About the only reason I could fathom that you would want to complain on TV Tropes is because you want everyone to see your whining on the pages, or because you want people to pay attention to you. That's it.
There are plenty of places for you to do this, yet you scrub your cunt with salt and sandpaper over and over again on bullshit about TV Tropes that's fucking absurd and pointless.
Dude, just spill it out here and quit worrying about that damn site. Fo' Real.
@GuyInWhite: Except that train of thought lead to crap like the rampant, irritating Discontinuity potholes.

Or you could just read it. I am not sure what's stopping you, they are only locked pages, but the content is still there.

It's a badaphor for describing people who torment themselves with questionably ineffective things.
The problem with Fast Eddie's policies is how reactionary and haphazard they are.
This is how we get such inconsistencies as both the Fridge namespace and the JustBugsMe (now called Headscratcher) namespace existing at once, even though they both serve the exact same purpose. Not to mention the Old Folks Home, which was created solely in response to a snowclone trend in Yack Fest that probably would've been over within an hour under normal circumstances.
^^ That's what I'm talking about: Fast Eddie doesn't seem to be thinking in the long term when it comes to his policies and his attempts to keep order. It's all about what will quell the problems of the moment (inasmuch as they're actually problems), rather than what will prevent the problems of the future.
^ So why do you think they couldn't fit in the YMMV space?
