^^^ That was such an amazingly stupid post I had to save this page so I could remember it forever.
  • If you're going to moan and bitch about a language, then don't moan and bitch about the language in the language itself.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
I'm sorry. Next time, I'll make sure I'm not born in an English-speaking country.

A ver pedazo de imbecil, te digo, repito y reitero, que el idioma inglés es una reverenda mamada mal hecha, una puta ladrona mal parida. Jodete, llorón de mierda.

Right, sorry, I'll go learn Spanish so I can properly tell you how much English sucks.

    ^ Ninja'd, but...that's so much better.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
    英語はだめです。
  • Okay, what the fuck people.

You can leave if you want, you know. Doesn't stop English from being superior to every other language out there. Sorry.

    Okay, Chagen, look:

1:I know English already because I learned it in that stage of development when babies are superhumanly good at learning languages. Therefore, the language being unreasonably difficult to learn is not sufficient to make me leave the country.

2:The reason you've given for why English is good is actually objectively untrue.

^^ So...you just trollin' now or what?

Que pedazo de animal, te digo que el inglés es un mal lenguaje en español y no me respondes, que idiotez.
  • No, I just actually have patriotism for my language instead of lambasting it for no good reason.
  • Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
I'm lambasting it for good reasons. It's difficult to learn, largely because of the huge number of exceptions to its ruleset.

Also, "patriotism to my language?" What.

    I...

It's really amazing how much stupidity/ignorance/I-don't-even-know-what-the-hell-you-are-saying-anymore-Chagen you can fit into one sentence.
  • You can't have "patriotism" for a language, Chagen.

I didn't really know a word that could express it besides "nationalism", and that has very negative connotations.

But damn, since when did it become a horrible and evil act to -gasp!- actually have pride in your country/language/culture?

    Objective truths are beyond you.
  • You can't have nationalism for a language, either! Because A LANGUAGE IS NOT A NATION

Vandro/Forzare: That didn't even answer my question.

CA: Technically, a nation is any group of people sharing a quality together. Therefore, the English-speaking sector of the world could be considered a "nation".

Well, if you can support it, it's not bad, but when it just boils down to "it's better because I speak it," that's not good.

    Ninja'd by the new page.

    You can change. You can.
Sweet zombie jesus, I leave you guys for five minutes and you start one of the dumbest discussions ever.

Look, Chagen, I don't hate English. I love how it sounds, I love the way it rolls out of my tongue and I love the way it's structured. But I know it's impractical and that as far as languages go, it's inconsistent and useless.

And I speak it because the internet is, in its majority, English-based. As well as many of the works I love. And I always try to enjoy something in its original language.

So... the problem isn't that we're "lambasting it for no good reason."  Rather, the problem is that we actually have reasons for our opinions on it, regardless of what those opinions even are?

I hate english because it is inconsistent and useless. I learned it at school because it was required for me to learn because panama is a US bitch.

-sigh- A nation is much more than just sharing a quality together. They need to share more than one, see?

^ Eh, it isn't really useless. If it was, then you wouldn't be using it to speak to them. But it is inconsistent.
  • He who laments and can't let go of the past is forever doomed to solitude.
    Useless from a linguistic perspective.
  • No, DYRE, it's that everyone fails to point out that other languages can be just as difficult.

No one ever brings up the Slavic case system, with 7 different cases determing the function of a word. Or the Germanic one, with four. Or Finnish's 15 cases.

Or the concept of gender, which can be tricky in some languages like German. Or languages that don't use the latin alphabet, like Russian or Japanese.

Everyone acts like English is the only difficult language ever, when many are nearly as difficult.

"Gee, for hating this innocent Germanic language so much, you sure fucking don't mind speaking it, considering that doing it right now.

    The fucking hypocrisy. "

"If you're going to moan and bitch about a language, then don't moan and bitch about the language in the language itself."
