People who Torrent/Pirate abusively

  • When in Turkey, ROCK THE FUCK OUT
    Like women.
  • Also lots of things that Funimation licenses are still easily available on other torrent sites so it's not really that much of a big deal... though of course it depends on the show I guess.
  • I used to use Limewire for a while a couple of years ago but I just stopped once I found uTorrent (and I got some kind of virus on my computer soon after downloading a song), I returned to it a short while back to find that it had changed and not in the good way, hardly any results and the ones that do pop up are spam/viruses so I just stick to Torrents for music now.

Well, whether stuff that Funi licenses is available on other torrent sites is another story, which is kinda the standard situation without BBT anyway, since your'e not supposed to be torrenting it anyway.

Nyktos: They're also picking up a large number of the new titles, basically staking claim to a pretty darn large market share.  Plus they're picking up licenses for more successful older series, as well as random series from all over the place.

If nothing else though, Funimation DVDs are at least cheaper than those of other anime licensing companies (MSRP of $50 for 13 episodes is a hell of a lot better than, say, MSRP of $30 for 3 or 4 episodes...).  And their subtitles are usually better, from what I've seen.  Still, that doesn't really change the fact that it's annoying to not be able to watch their shows before buying them (or... watching them instead of buying them if  they aren't good enough to justify spending money, but are still good enough to be watchable).

Well, at least watching two episodes of The Sacred Blacksmith makes me think I probably won't enjoy it.
  • I dropped it after about two episodes too, but I'm thinking of starting to watch it again because Aki Toyosaki is in it.  Though I have other shows I'm watching or planning to watch that she's in too, so I guess it's not too important.
  • a little muffled
What bugs me about FUNimation at the moment is how long they take to release stuff after licensing it. They picked up the second season of Darker Than Black last summer and we still don't have any word on when it'll get released.

Yeah.  That's pretty annoying too.  At least other companies usually announce some sort of release date shortly after licensing the show (or at least they don't take a whole year to announce it anyway).  Like, FLCL was licensed by Funi for like... a year or so before they even gave a release date.

    Who's Aki Toyosaki?

The seiyuu who voiced Yui in K-On!.

I like her voice a lot, so that's originally why I decided to watch Seiken No Blacksmith.  (she voices the loli elf Lisa)

She's also Uiharu in Toaru Kagaku No Railgun and Kana in Kanamemo and other characters from shows I'm watching or going to be watching soon or have watched, so... yeah.
  • I haven't seen it yet.  I've downloaded it, but I'm probably not going to start watching it until I've finished Azumanga Daioh and Pita Ten and Cardcaptor Sakura, just because I don't want to be watching too many shows at the same time.

    > loli elf Lisa

    > loli

    > implying that that's not why you're watching it
  • Well, partly. >.>  But actually it's because I heard her image song and thought it sounded really cute so I decided to watch the show.
  • ~♥YES♥~! I *AM* a ~♥cupcake♥~! ^_^
