  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!

    Well you two certainly seem to be implying that there's something wrong with me finding it fun, beause it's not "good".

    No. I gave an example of a game that I found fun but isn't good. Twice.

    yea i make potions if ya know what i mean

    Okay.

    Just checking.

    Now, assuming we are playing the same game. What about it is "badly designed"?

    Like, you've brought up the lack of atmosphere. Which, okay, that is a valid point, but we agreed on that. And I don't really find issue with it. I'm not sure why you do, and you haven't given a reason beyond "Diablo II had atmosphere and this game doesn't", really.

    No. I gave an example of a game that I found fun but isn't good. Twice.

    Okay then, what exactly are we arguing about here?

  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.

    The emphasis on repetitive gameplay to the exclusion of other elements of a video game.

    Also, to deal with edits:

    Well you two certainly seem to be implying that there's something wrong with me finding it fun, beause it's not "good". I've repeatedly asked why this is an issue and not been given a response.

    I never said there's anything wrong with you finding it fun.

    However, you did say:

    Also this game is really Diablo II-like, this is in no way a bad thing and makes total sense, but it's still worth mentioning.

    Which is what I responded to.

  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!

    Originally? Something about games and their various attributes.

    Now? Nothing at all. Very vehemently.

    I really do not see how that relates to the conversation.

    I mean, it is undeniably pretty similar to Diablo II. At least in terms of mechanics, which is what I meant, but I didn't really feel the need to elaborate because I did not anticipate that me accidentally saying "not bad" when I meant "not an issue for me" would lead to a massive debate.

    So, if we can get off semantics, that would be great. If that's all you took issue with, then it's cleared up and we can move on with our lives, if it's not, please explain what is bothering you besides that.

    Now? Nothing at all. Very vehemently.

    It's almost like this conversation is totally pointless and a waste of everyone's time! :D

  • One foot in front of the other, every day.

    Lazuli, you seem to be getting a little aggravated. Might I humbly suggest you take five and come back a little more relaxed? I'm not trying to be condescending, sincerely. It's just that even if I disagree with your general perspective, I don't think you're necessarily wrong as such, and everyone argues their points better when they're not frustrated.

  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!

    As much as that post would probably have been good to make a few minutes ago, I think we were probably done talking anyway >.>

    I generally get aggravated when I get the impression I'm arguing with someone about literally nothing, yes.

    Also I'm arguing with this guy on another site

    Lol calm down buddy. From what I've seen on this site the reaching is at a very insane level. It could be that OF's fanbase is most likely on average between 13-17 so it makes sense. You sound awfully upset tho. Did I hit too close to home?

    which yeah.

    lol add-ons

  • Champion of the Whales

    @Bee from the last page,

    They made a 3rd Masters of Orion game?

  • So, I bought Spec-Ops: The Line (So I can finally not feel guilty for having played it), and my brother chose Civ V. He'll probably get tired of it in like 5 minutes, but hey.

  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!

    Fuck it, I'll buy Dawnguard.

  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
    Quantum Conundrum is on sale. Do not buy it; it is terrible.
  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!

    Do not buy DOOM 3 either, it's also terrible.

  • a little muffled

    @Noimporta:

    I got a whole week out of it.

  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!

    So...

    I'm considering getting Revelations: 2012 just to review it.

    But even with the sale, I would be paying like four dollars more than it's worth.

  • But you never had any to begin with.

    's more like 15. Seriously, they shouldn't expect people to play that thing without paying them.

  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!

    ^^If you want a bad game to review, I could always give you Bad Rats. ;D

  • But you never had any to begin with.

    You're a monster.

  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!

    Okay, of the new discounts, I'd recommend Dishonored and Arkham City. Orcs Must Die was good, but I haven't played the sequel (just bought it).

  • If that don't work, use more gun.

    If you don't have Sonic Generations, I'd recommend getting it.

  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human

    Hmm, now that I've seen the trailer, Quantum Conundrum looks interesting.  I think I had been previously confusing it with that game where you design your own evil villain's lair.

    Perhaps the ending isn't good because the story premise is silly.  I mean, it looks very much like a special-concept game.

    I don't think my computer can run it, though.

  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
    Nonononono. It's really, really bad. It's not the story, it's the fact that about 2/3 of the puzzle game doesn't have puzzles.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
    I know I tend to be a bit overenthusiastic about hating it, btw. It's just that it's the most disappointed I've ever been by a game.I've probably played a few worse games, but never one that was so much lower than my expectations.

    Yes.  It was a complete disaster.

    The Basement Collection 50% off

    Speaking of complete disaster, it blows my mind how Tyler "Optimization is for Pussies" Glaiel got so popular.  Even knowing Flash's performance issues, there's basically no excuse for as much lag as his games pile up.

  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human

    Has anyone played the following games?

    * Home

    * Toki Tori

    * Magnetis

    I have Toki Tori.  It's decent if you're into puzzles.  It has a demo, so go ahead and try that first.

    The last few levels are really, really brutal though T_T  There's a damn good reason it has a rewind function, because there's zero room for error.

  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human

    Maybe I'll snatch up one for SteamGifts, then.  I suck at puzzle platformers.  They always look cool and then I feel frustrated when I try to actually play them.

  • So I did some digging on the Basement Collection.  Apparently it's almost unplayable because all they did was port the already laggy Flash straight onto Steam, memory leaks and all, except now you can't even right click and set low quality.  It's one of the laziest things I've ever seen.
