It does not bug me, but I feel we needed a thread for the new Toonami.
Has anyone but me been tuning in?

I've been watching a little but sadly television here is somewhat tenuous.
I did get into Deadman Wonderland though.
What's the current line-up?
Bleach, Deadman Wonderland, GiTS I think, but mostly shonenshit.
From what I've heard, it has both FMAs...running back-to-back. That doesn't exactly seem like a good idea, but FMA is pretty awesome.
*crosses arms* FMA Brotherhood, Casshern Sins, and Cowboy Bebop aren't shonenshit, while Bleach is pretty much the definition (coming from a Bleach fan, too). I really should check this out, as Casshern Sins in particular is something I haven't watched too much but looks artsy (in a good way).
Oh they have Cowboy Bebop? Cool, hopefully more people will get into it.
And FMA is good, but it's still Shonenshit.
It's Shonen, but I wouldn't call it Shonenshit.
Yeah, especially when you single out Bleach of all things.
You seem to misunderstand what the shit suffix means.
When I say "noirshit" i don't mean "Crappy noir stuff", I just mean "Noir stuff"
4Chan is a complicated place.
Except that 4Chan applies that to be derogatory. They are just derogatory towards everything
Eh, not really but whatever.
Bleach really is shit.
Shonenshit is more often used to describe certain trends in shonen, and the shows that follow those trends. You know, things like having women be relatively useless and rarely do anything, and constant powerups, shit like that.
Yeah, which is why FMA doesn't really fit well under that banner.
It is within the confines of the shonen fighting series genre.
It just happens to not have any of the shitty things that genre is associated with.
I'm not certain I'd classify FMA as a fighting series, but I have no idea what the actual definition of "fighting series" is.
I imagine it means Japanese series with an emphasis on fighting?
But either way, Shonen's not really much of a defined genre, considering it's actually a demographic and all.
^More specifically a manga or anime, targeted at the shonen demographic, with an emphasis on fighting.
Aka Naruto/Bleach.
Yes, but FMA does fit into the category. It just has the unusual trait within that category of not being horrible.
...what?
Whoever told you that is either stupid or a straight-up liar. It has FMA:Brotherhood, but the other FMA anime hasn't run on [as] since they picked Brotherhood up.
The current lineup is, in order:
Bleach
Deadman Wonderland
Casshern Sins
FMA: Brotherhood
Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex: 2nd Gig
Cowboy Bebop
and then it repeats once. Maybe that's where the "two FMA in one night" comes from, I dunno.
Also they're replacing one of those with FLCL at the beginning of August, but I'm not sure which one, I think GiTS.
also, "shonenshit"? Really guys?
The only thing on there that's really your traditional shonen DBZ-inspired stuff is Bleach. DW is more horror than anything, honestly. Casshern Sins is brooding existential stuff mixed with robots and kicking. I don't really watch FMA:B, but GiTS is....well GiTS. And Cowboy Bebop needs no explanation.
Yeah, FMA is a shonen fighting series. It just lacks many of the negative elements that make the big shows like Naruto and Bleach suck so much.
Or I'm remembering wrong, or heard a rumor before the relaunch or something. I haven't really been following it, so those are both possibilities.
Look can we just unite each other in our hate of Bleach instead of babbling about what is or what is not shonen
no
but but but
you get to say bleach haters assemble
or bleach haters, take them down
I'd never seen Bleach before the relaunch and holy God does it suck.
At least the arc they're on now does. I kept asking myself "is there a point to any of this?" and I kept going "no, no there is not".
There were a lot of actively disinformative rumors going around before the relaunch (such as rumors it would show Naruto, original [as] programming, subbed shows, etc.). Most of them were spread by /a/ who are determined to somehow make "Newnami" fail. Because....reasons, I guess.
Bleach got so bad the anime got cancelled. Now Kubo's on his last arc.
shit, okay
let's do it
@INUH:
That's a fairly useless genre definition, but eh.When I hear "fighting series" I normally think "Dragon Ball clone", which FMA is not.
