    I love the first two episodes in hindsight. The thing is, once you start the show, it seems incredibly unfocused and jumping around a lot of viewpoints. Mind you, it's more of a narrative quirk you get used to as the show gets along (And one of the many reasons the show manages to operate on the scope it does), but it can be pretty jarring as you're watching and you forget who's who. (Not to mention that on the first two episodes, names are rarely, if ever dropped, which hardly helps matter)

    Pretty good first day. When I got in, it was morning and it was raining, so it was really easy, then it gradually picked up over the day.


    Interestingly, the most difficult part of a bagger's job is convincing people not to tip us.

    Cool! But are you ever gonna be back in the U.S.? :P


    One of my friends is hoping to save up for a trip to Japan, and he wants to bring some of us along. I would so love to do that. Course, I'd feel bad for not knowing Japanese (because I proooooobably can't teach the language to myself in a year), but that's why it's his idea; apparently he's been taking lessons or studying or something, so hopefully he keeps up with that (and gets a job, so he can afford the trip. Hell, I don't know how I would).

    Watch out for pickpockets though. If you carry things in your pockets, have your hands over them at all times, and if you have a bag of some sort, carry it in your hands; thieves can get them off if you don't.

    I've been enjoying living in a city enough that I'm actually starting to consider living in, say, Boston or something more.
