Well, the downside is that my large posts seldom get read in full, or when they get read, are too large to be replied to as a whole. So while I think I put a fair amount of quality thoughts down, this kind of relaxed, hangouty forum mightn't be the best medium.
Somehow, it's this place in particular that inspires such large posts. Probably because on TVT I'd get derided for trying to "intellectualise" stuff or whatever.
I can feel that particular brand of crazy creeping back. The one where I just want to turn off the phone and internet and not leave my house until I've read every book in the house. And not at a relaxed pace either. It will be a manic literary race, reading through everything as fast as I can and neglecting food and sleep to finish the task. I can just picture it now, entombing myself in a pile of haphazardly read through books. Comics and coffee table books would have to make up the top though for structural ease.
I am totally not going to empty my bookshelves to see if I actually have enough books to entomb myself with.
And that is only marginally less crazy than reading every book in the house.
Now I'm wondering whether there are enough books in my house to entomb myself with, and, if so, the degree of prestige I can bestow upon my resting place and the values I can imply for future historians.
And now I sort of want to buy a lot of hentai manga so I can make those pages my tomb. Future historians would puzzle over what kind of society produces an individual that entombs themselves in porn, and if this implies a series of further undiscovered findings.
Which then makes me wonder whether any historical people have done a future troll and buried themselves with bizarre items or methods just to puzzle contemporary mankind.
And then Alex's house was the loli rape bunker.
Wow, that is an old in joke.
I wouldn't mind being set atop a pyre made of every copy of Wuthering Heights and Twilight (each in the series) and being offered up to the heavens as a guardian spirit to make sure nobody has to suffer any of those books again.
I would say Wuthering Heights is JUST good enough to avoid being burned, associations with Twilight aside.
I'd rather my fellow NSW 3-Unit English students don't continue to suffer.
Question. What kind of hobbies would look well on a curriculum vitae? Something tells me video games and internet forums wouldn't.
Also, wheeeeeeee, getting a new passport
Say something like reading and debate!

In other important news, bureaucracy is hell. More at eleven
Baby batman is sadder. Baby Bruce might at least have parents.
Trying to find volunteers to do stuff for a party is almost undoable if they'd rather be getting sloshed on free beer. >
But baby batman has already seen that happen ;-; as a baby
He lost his childhood before it could ever happen
Those blocks he's playing with? They're secretly made out of lead. Weight training, see
You're not allowed to smile for them here.

"Something tells me video games and internet forums wouldn't."
Maybe you could make a convincing case for video games if there's some sort of computing science involved and the hiring manager isn't too much of an old fogey. After all, gamers did solve the mystery of a protein that stumped scientists.
Internet forums are worthless though.
