I have a kind of variating team of Dante, Wesker, X-23, Morrigan, Doctor Strange, Chun Li, and Doctor Doom as of now.

So, I just had a thought.
The reason DC Vs. MK didn't work, aside from being bad, was an extreme lack of brand synergy. Mortal Kombat is a world of hell dimensions and monsters and vile things. It's something of an eastern-influenced blood and thunder with even more blood. It aims for something of a grim, spooky feeling. How well it does this is beside the point. DC on the other hand is a bombastic, bright, and larger-than-life place. Even it's grim characters are imaginative and usually good. Getting around this was an extreme issue, as things like the oxymoronic 'Heroic Brutalities' were made to surface.
And I was thinking with the most recent gaming partnership by the makers of Blazblue Aksys Works for the Persona fighting game here's a game that would work more...

I most confess that I find the idea of a fighting game story interesting as a concept since the cast is decentralized and you can take on the perspective of the character you're most interested in. Which sounds great, if fighting game stories were actually worth investing one's mind in.
I think the Udon comics did a pretty good job of adapting Street Fighter, making Ryu and Ken the central characters with the stuff with the other characters being supplements.
Admittedly, good fighting games always leave me wanting to know more of a good number of the characters. Like with UMvC the whole thing with Wesker and Doom teaming up: That is a comic I'd pay for.
Wait, where did Wesker and Doom canonically team up in that game? I don't remember which ending that might have been.
It's in the comic that is in the extras part of the game.
The comic itself is pretty lame but I still love the idea.
