I dunno :V
Marketing is complicated.
Well, I guess that's what it boils down to.
Middlemens, my friend, get used to them eating up your profits.
Hmmm...I wonder if Gamestop would refuse to carry a game entirely if it were cheaper on Steam at launch?
I like Steam, a lot, but there's something gratifying about a physical copy.
Generally, unless I'm getting some physical bonus in a collector's edition, I find physical copies to be an inconvenience.
There's something about looking at a row of game cases that feels good. I still buy a lot more games physically than digitally these days.
They look good, but on the other hand, they can be misplaced.
This is true, though that's not much of a problem for me personally than some others since I'm fairly good about organising my games.
Then there are games that you buy a physical copy of and they go "yep, you can install via disc but we're gonna count it as a Steam game as well", so if it's misplaced I can download another copy, which is useful.
Yeah, it is pretty good when that happens.
That said, I mostly buy digital for the convenience. Don't even have to leave my chair (and once that iPhone app is out, I won't even have to walk over to my computer XD)
Half of the reason is so that I can go up to Macquarie and stretch my legs and get out of the house.
How ironic in that I'm buying something that'll keep me in the house.
Hey guys, you know how none of you knew me in the phase where I thought it was the funniest thing in the world to reply to 'he tried to kill me' with 'WITH A FORKLIIIIFT!'
Just thinking about that.
You know what? People talk about how Katawa Shoujo isn't trashy /b/-tard exploitation, and they're right.
But now I want to play the trashy exploitation game that everyone was expecting, just for the disgust value.
I just tried the Amalur demo. The entire game felt like a hack and slash game trying to be a Bioware rpg, or vice versa. Not bad, but I think I'll wait until it goes on sale to pick it up.
Edit: Actually it feels like a third person version of Torchlight.
Bioware RPG? It struck me as far more similar to a TES game, despite the talky wheel.
My big thing about Amalur is that I'm just burnt out on traditional western fantasy and while the game seems good it doesn't seem to offer anything unique like Zelda or Hellboy does.
^^It felt nothing like a TES game to me, it lacked much of the openness of one. The dialogue wheel, radial menu system, and the hack and slash combat combined with hotkeys made it feel more like a cartoonier Dragon Age II to me.
Yeah, it lacked the openness of a TES game, but the emphasis on noncombat skills and lore is more TES-ish than DA-ish.
Maybe its the demo's fault, but wut?
I haven't played the demo, so I'm going to second the wut. There's a good deal of lore, and noncombat skills seem to be quite useful.
I thought the demo was pretty fun. The combat was a lot more fun than Fable, even if the game lacked Fable's charm.
It's been a while since I've actually felt anger. Huh.
Kingdoms of Amalur is fun :C
why the sad face, i don't understand
because it costs $60 to buy the full game ;-;
And if it was bad I could just not buy it. Now I'm gonna be tempted every time I load Steam.
patience, grasshopper.
no
i dont think i really need to know anyway, it's your business and doesn't involve me
uh, hopefully .-.
fuck yeah kittie
?
so you wanna spend that money? Buy me the game, then.
