Yeah, I was playing AvP 2 at the time. Ended up just plasmacasting facehuggers, on the grounds that missing a shot on one of those little bastards is the worst possible thing to do. Finished the Pred campaign, at any rate. Now just got the *shudder* Marine campaign left.
Somehow I feel like I'm doing just a little bit too little... >.>
At the same time though, I am way too tired to do anything more, so whatever.

At least someone had the sense to take that horrid rebuttal down. But it sickens me to think of how many people actually think that way.
Yeah, definitely nothing to do with drama.
A lot of members over there seem to be fairly elaborate at saying why they like or don't like something and their reasons are solid. It's nice to only have minimal mindless fanboy gushing or meaningless bashing. One of the things that got me interested was what they had to say about James Rolfe, namely that his skits might not be that good, but he succeeds by being a genuinely likeable person. Also, reading their Simpsons thread made me interested in checking out some of the old episodes again since they nailed a lot of the reasons why they were so good.
Somewhat related, I don't know why some people are so hostile to media analysis. At its core, a significant part of it is about explaining why you like something, and considering how many people complain that they aren't good at explaining why they like something, I'd expect a warmer reception to the idea.
At least my dad didn't blow up like I thought they would, that's some peace of mind right there.
