I thought this was an interesting mix of messing with game mechanics and ridiculous alt-history commentary:
You gotta admire the audacity. Though apparently they didn't need to do that to get good rating.
In short, Playism's web store will shut down on March 24. Access to purchased content and Steam keys will shut down on May 10.
It's a shame to see Playism's web store go.
For those who don't know, Playism is a company that localizes Japanese indie games for English-speaking audiences, and also localizes a bunch of western indie games for Japan. They've had a web store that sells the games they've worked on. It typically offers DRM-free + Steam key, so this ends up being the only way to get some games DRM-free. There are even a few Playism store exclusives found nowhere else.
It seems Playism will still be operating in the future, but just not running their web store.
So, this would be your last chance to buy anything, and download any stuff you've bought, and retrieve any Steam keys. (I know I've got a wishlist on Playism that I've been sitting on...)
A link to Playism's store, for your convenience: https://playism.com/
Thanks for the heads-up!
I think I heard about this a while back actually. Wasn't ever really on my radar. But thanks anyway.

I feel the videos from those channels are the sort of thing that would've sparked discussion here back in the day.
Red Alers 2 online, in case you were interested. (For I while I had that idea we might play a round, but I'm afraid I'm chronically out of time for attention-demanding activities. Alas.)
I played Red Alert 2 a couple years ago so I guess it's only natural that I try out Chrono Divide, unfortunately since there's no option for bot opponents I have to first muster the bravery to embarrass myself facing another human.
I've played RTSs a couple times but I've never been good at them, I normally just finish the single-player campaign, get the hang of beating bots at the lower difficulties and get wrecked in the few matches against humans I've played.
An additional reason for my recommendation is that it is themed around a folk hero popular also in my part of the world.
Another giant bundle. (Contains some of the same things as the previous giant bundle.) As with last time, only direct downloads (no keys).

One of its most notable features was that you could switch your character class anytime.
It was the MMORPG I played most extensively. I joined her guild, and I think I actually made two forays into it, first playing with one character, then putting down the game, then picking it up later. I think I named my first character, a male, Quint, the second one, a female, Eika (after Eika Ichijou from Sky Girls, since I wanted a somewhat Japanese name to match with the anime art style and was lacking ideas). IIRC I might have joined up with a different guild that that same IJBMer set up.
I played through like the first four or so areas, basically as a solo player, joining up with parties occasionally, because I just liked the feeling of helping people out for their quests. I think I worked up to some point where I knew how to deal with new items/equipment I found, I had keyboard shortcuts set and all, and I think I even gained a mount or two, and some titles.
But I never really had a community experience. The game was the one that convinced me that MMORPGs weren't really my thing...ironically, this was after I'd tried a few other games but stuck with this one the longest. I think my experience would have been more positive if I'd been playing with a consistent group of friends, but without such companions in-game, I felt like all I was doing was just grinding quests gradually to make more in-game money to buy more equipment and so on, all with the objective of simply discovering more game content, particularly the story, which wasn't very immersive as the NPCs just stood there (and other players just walked around doing whatever) as disasters were supposedly happening near them. It was an experience I could get a lot more smoothly than in a single-player RPG.
The visuals were solid, and I certainly enjoyed the gameplay too. ...even if my computer's processor probably didn't, as now that I'm listening to the soundtrack again I remember the computer's fan going on full blast quite frequently...such that the "proper" music thus sounds quite a bit more detailed than the low-volume, fan-filtered music I'd heard before.
Speaking of the soundtrack, you can listen to it here:

or here:

It's pleasant fantasy JRPG style music. Note that in-game, you'd be likely to hear each track just restarting after the end of the track, because there was no infinite looping, and the same track would just repeat if you were in the same area.
I once tried to play Eden Eternal due to her recommendation too, though I could not do it for reasons I can't remember.
(Also, I just learned we have an amusing 404 message.)

There's apparently a way to deliver malware through images on Steam.
It requires other malware to actually be deliverable though.
* An apparently old but yet unfixed exploit in the Steam Mobile app can cause your Steam login to be passed to sites that you click on in the app (e.g. in chat) -- even phishing sites.

There are also different flash deals that come and go.
Because of that, I missed a chance to pick up King's Bounty: Crossworlds GOTY for super cheap (-85%), though it's still pretty heavily discounted at the moment (-75%).
