  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.

I wanted to be a writer. Then, when I turned eight, I wanted to be a game designer. And a librarian.

And I still wanna be all three.

  • When I was a kid I wanted to be Venom. Then a private eye, then a writer, then a librarian. Now I'm pursuing writing and radio hosting. So hooray.

  • When I was a really young kid, I wanted to be an Army officer, which is pretty laughable now given my lack of athletic prowess, general laziness and lack of respect for hierarchy. Then I wanted to be a writer, then a journalist. Then when I was in my early teens I watched a TV series about a famous English barrister called Edward Marshall-Hall and decided I'd be a lawyer, which is what happened.

Unfortunately, I turned out not to be very good at the courtroom stuff, so I ended up doing property law.

  • When I was a kid, I wanted to be a knight (aww yeah people other than me wanted to be too) and then I wanted to be a dragon-riding knight and then I wanted to be able to wield a sword larger than the buster sword and then  somethingsomethingIwannabeanangelomgsirgalahadisawesomeetc. and now...there isn't anything I aspire to be. Nothing I think would ever work out in real life, anyway, unless I suddenly became omnipotent.

He who laments and can't let go of the past is forever doomed to solitude.

I wanted to be scientist. Then I grew up and I now want to be JUSTICE!

  • When I was a kid I wanted to be an astronaut.
