  • I've used mace to defend myself before. The only effect it had, was the attacker was stunned that I had actually used it. It helped he had been wearing sunglasses that deflected the blast, but it was literally a point blank shot into his face.

Even if he had been well weakened by that I couldn't have won if the fight had accelerated.

Mace will NOT incapacitate an opponent, and will, at best, simply serve as a deterrent, or perhaps a distraction needed to escape/get a good kick in.

Any kind of ranged stun gun is problematic because you could very well miss.
  • Don't ruin my badass conception of a country where people murder people bare-fisted and possibly fry sharks for breakfast. T_T

    XD
  • home invasions are a crime here unless they're being done by government then it's perfeclty normal for somer eason regardless of a specific part of the bill of rights protectign against that.

If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
The only reason there isn't any here is that we're scared of what would happen if two Australians went at it, mano-to-mano.
  • I will simply say this.  Different nations, different approaches, different results.
  • I am completely against guns. I don't think anyone in the world should have them in the world at all. Course that's just fantasy.

Realistically, the only people who I think should have access to gun ownership are; teachers, soldiers, high ranking police officers, farmers, and hunting should be tightly regulated so you have to rent a gun and return it once you're done.
  • Glaives are better.
The issue I've always had with gun control arguments is that they all seem to be based around the assumption that there's a universal watershed of lethality, beneath which it's all fine and dandy but above which you need to get a federal marque of approval, triple authenticated by everyone including your aunt and several forms of government I.D. before you can speak with a Southern accent within fifty metres of a firearm.

That might even be an acceptable measure, if that watershed wasn't based on feelings instead of cold, hard facts. Backyard swimming pools (luxuries) are a hundred times riskier than firearms, but the worst pool owners get is a slap on the wrist if the pool's shape brings down property values. Yet firearms, which have legitimate utility to a citizen in good standing, are treated as a sort of bogeyman that will waltz into your kitchen and shoot and/or molest little Timmy if you don't make sure the Second Amendment is treated as a typo rather than an actual Constitutional principle.
  • Chagen, I can guarantee that the pistol you held did not fire a larger round than the revolver I posted.  It might have been a .50 caliber round, but it was not bigger than a .50 BMG.  You can stab someone with a .50 BMG.
  • I meant that the gun itself was much larger.

I'm fairly certain there was a news article about one state trying to pass a law allowing teachers to carry guns on their person at all times.

    I loled heartily.
