  SD Ballot: South Dakota voters in 2016 passed Measure 22,
  a ballot initiative that imposed restrictions on lobbying, created an
  independent ethics commission, and established a public campaign finance
  system. Almost immediately afterward, the Republicans who dominate the
  state government sought to repeal the reforms. On Monday, legislators began debating a new bill that would nullify the voter-approved measure,
  with Gov. Dennis Daugaard claiming voters were “hoodwinked” into
  passing it. Infuriatingly, they even included a provision that would literally declare a state of emergency so that repeal would take effect immediately.

  Upcoming special election in Georgia's 6th congressional district -- to be vacated by likely new HHS secretary Tom Price.
  
  Notable thing about this district is that it went 61-37 for Romney but only 48-47 for Trump.
  
  The Democratic candidate is Jon Ossoff, former staffer to civil rights icon John Lewis (D-GA-05) and investigative reporter.
  
  The date of this special election is not yet known.

  Here is Donald Trump offering to destroy the career of Texas State Senator Konni Burton, a Republican, who represents Texas's 10th senate district.  It's an area including downtown Fort Worth and much of the area south of that city, in its county.  (The seat was previously held by former state senator and former gubernatorial nominee Wendy Davis, a Democrat, who gained national fame for her filibuster against an anti-abortion measure.  Ms. Davis vacated the seat to run for governor.)
  
  Mr. Trump's offer is based on a comment from Rockwall County Sheriff Harold Eavenson, referring to Ms. Burton's opposition to civil asset forfeiture laws.

  Protests began in Phoenix, Arizona after US Immigrations and Customs Enforcement attempt to deport a woman, Guadalupe García de Rayos who came to the United States 22 years ago as a fourteen-year-old and is now married with two children (who were born here and are citizens themselves, as is her husband).  She was doing a routine check with ICE which happens once every year or half-year, it seems, and this time she was arrested for having a false paperwork conviction from 2008.
