"I don't care if it sucks! It's Transformers!"

  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
    With that thought in mind
  • You can change. You can.
Speaking of Forrce Ghosts, that reminds me of how much I hated Return's revised ending.

    Ugh...Hayderp Christenderp.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
That's certainly your right, but by being satisfied by a movie at this level you are saying. "This is all Transformers has to be. I don't have to care about the characters or the plot or stakes so long as I get a few minutes of Optimus and Megatron punching each other. Transformers needn't be good."

    -_-

It is saying "This movie satisfies me enough that I can enjoy it."

It is not saying "Transformers does not need to be good." It is saying "This movie, as it is, is enjoyable to me."

Saying that you enjoyed a poorly-made film does not mean that you would not prefer a good movie to be made. It merely means that you enjoyed a goddamned movie.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
Except it is. If you're saying you enjoyed the movie, exactly what you're saying is it needn't be good, because you enjoyed it while it wasn't good.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
    No, it isn't.

It's saying that a bad movie has merits that can be enjoyed.

It is not saying you would not enjoy a better movie more. It is saying that yes, believe it or not some people can like movies that have bad elements, even as they enjoy better-made movies at the same time and would prefer those.

Because, believe it or not, not everyone cries if a movie is not a shining example of storytelling. Even bad movies can be enjoyable.
  • See, The Room.
  • About Transformers 2: Too much Sam's shitty slice-of-life segments. Needed more human military actually being effective against the robots. Going to see Dark of the Moon on Thursday.

I want your hard, feathery cock, Bird Boy.
There are no other live action giant transforming robot movies with explosions and cool fights scenes. We're not saying that having that with better writing, better acting, etc. wouldn't have been more enjoyable, but this is what we got, and we are just gonna have to deal.

Think of it this way. Complaining about Transformers and boycotting the movies isn't going to make MORE giant CGI robot movies get made.

    Yes. As Snappy said.
  • Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
I wish that the Transformers movies were better.  They had some serious issues that really held them down.  But I enjoyed them for what they were, even if I could have liked them more than I did had things been different.
  • Mr. The Edge goes to Washington
A Transformer movie just needs to be a 90 to 120 minute toy commerical. It's not that hard! Instead, they are a 150 minute commerical for everything else. How can you mess that up?!

Apparently all of the kids I know that don't know there was an old Transformers show actually like the movies, and are buying toys because of this.

Successful Franchise is Successful. Give it around 10 years and they will be bitching about the Transformers reboot that happens after that, where the Transformers are going back to their 80's roots, and being RUINED FOREVER

You'd think that, but after Batman & Robin flopped, what did we get? Batman Begins.

And quite honestly, I'd rather have no giant robot movie than a giant robot movie as terrible as the Transformers movie.

Thing is, I'm not actually a trans-fan but there is nothing redeeming about these series. No, not even the robots. Their designs are hideous and oftentimes make it hard to see who is who, and the action is confusing and goes on too long to be interesting.

You're settling for a ridiculously low bar. The reason better Transformers movies haven't been made is because those are making money. As long as they are, well get pricks for main characters and fight scenes done with shaky cam and lensflare.
  • «You'd think that, but after Batman & Robin flopped, what did we get? Batman Begins.»
    After how many years, though?
  • Malk isn't a trans-fan >_>,
  • And after Superman IV flopped, we got Superman Returns. What's your point, Malk?
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
My point is you don't get anything better if you settle for shit. Sure, you're not guaranteed to get something great but better to demand excellence than repeatedly accept crap.

^^^Some things are worth the wait.

^^Well, I've seen the animated movie and some episodes of the classic and Beastwars, but they never struck me as THE GREATEST THING EVER.

Subjectivity invalidates your argument. I win.

Ratchet is the Yellow one with the handlebar mustache

Ironhide is the gray one that's supposedly Clint Eastwood.

Optimus Prime is the one that sounds like a heroic black guy and is a semi-truck

Jazz is the only black transformer to die and is a gangsta primus

    Bumblebee is the yellow one.

and for the Decepticons, nobody gives a fuck since they all died.
  • Woki mit deim Popo.
If you truly love Optimus and Megatron and these characters, surely what you want more than anything else to see them done justice?

Most Transformer fans just point the 1986 animated movie and call it it day.  At least, it has less humans to be annoying.
  • Bad Movies, cinema in disguise.

Bad Movies, painful on the eyes.
