Actually, didn't he do it last? From what it looks like, he was banned September twenty-seventh, whereas Vorpy was banned September fourth.

...Wow, way to ninja me, guiz.

INUH, you are really off your game, man.
  • Has friends besides tanks now
^^ That thread was "There once was a man from Nantucket", for the record.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Huh, you're right. I guess I forgot the details, what with it being three months ago and all.
  • Which is why you're a terrible mod. Step your game up, dude.

Also, I wish that thread hadn't gotten deleted. :C
  • Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
Yeah, Vorpy did it first, because Vorpy be trollin' and not thinking hard enough first, then GL and Inky did it to ragequit IJBM.

inkblot wasn't exactly in a ragey mood; more of a shrug-y mood; a "lol whatevs I didn't wanna be here anymore" mood. In fact, I think his actual response, when Cygan or someone asked him, was to shrug.

    GLORIOUS was definitely ragey, though.

Vorpy just wasn't thinking at all, like you said.

    AW SNAP!

I didn't actually catch the thread before the other mods zapped it. Thanks, Bob.
  • I wish I could see the comments to it, but, this'll do.

    No problem, Eva!

    Well, I read it.

And I don't miss him at all.
  • edited 2011-12-31 23:50:57
Hell yeah! I wanted to see it, too.

On the other hand, I can't find this file where I kept a record about this. I want to find it, now.
  • Hey, while we're on the subject does anyone know what happened to change?
  • Who's change?

If you mean chagen, he got banned.

Specifically, he was banned the final time for suddenly and temporarily turning my Katawa Shoujo topic into a discussion on his ableism. It was his third ban; the previous two, the weekban and the monthban, had come from importing drama.

In all honesty, though, we could have banned him a lot sooner if we actually put Rule 0 (or, as I've called it before, the "get rid of people no one likes" rule, since there's really no other use for it) to use.

And also his final ban, but I think that goes without saying.
  • I kind of feel bad for Chagen, but I guess it's better this way.
  • I'm curious. Does Chagen actually have something against disabled
people, or did he just choose a very stupid way to say that he doesn't
    find them arousing?

I sort of feel bad for him in the end, but he wasn't improving fast enough to compensate for how much of a nuisance he was. I'd rather he mature elsewhere.

^ The latter, mostly; he doesn't see how anyone with a disability (even relatively minor ones, like in Katawa Shoujo) could be considered attractive, and he was surprised to a rather distressing degree when other people in the thread said they don't mind disabilities enough for it to affect how they view people.

    ^^^I totally agree.

Except for the feeling bad part.

^Doesn't that count as having something against disabled people in a way?
  • Has friends besides tanks now
Yes, but it's not so much the "they're inferior to me" sort of prejudice as it is the "eww, ugly person" sort. I was making my distinction based on what Stormtroper said; either way it's ableism, but they're different types, because it totally matters, shut up.

I guessed so. You'd think he'd at least deny the former when called out on it, though.

    ...We lost Vorpy and Vivi

So Bob, you are not allowed to get banned or leave us

Or we will beat you unconcious and stuff you in a cage to keep in the forum forever :D
  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
    >My point was that the two posts above mine were treating this like Vorpy
got banned for posting CP.  She didn't.  She got banned for posting a
link to a Google search for the phrase "child pornography."  The former
is pretty terrible, the latter is obviously a joke, albeit not one that
is likely going to be very well-received.  There's a ridiculously huge
    difference between the two things.

Not as much as you think. Especially since even a google search for that sort of stuff can get you on the wrong side of the law in certain countries.

Regardless, that is NOT something you should joke about.
  • You can change. You can.

    Australia, according to Cygan.
  • You can change. You can.
Fairly sure we agreed that a google search was hardly as aggravating as she seemed to think. At least, I remember her and Tzetze arguing about it in #yackfest.

This was one main reason why we decided that linking to a Google search (or linking to a link to a Google search) for child porn would be an instant permaban.

Consensus was, it's not likely to land me/any other Australians in any trouble at all because it's not as easy as I thought for the police to obtain the records from the ISP providers or whoever, but it's still possible and I'd prefer it if there was no chance at all I could get in trouble for having searches for that on my computer
