Dynamo smirked at Snow and winked. Snow shuddered.
"...Or maybe 'Should Stop Hitting On Snow If He Knows What's Good For Him' might be a better name..."
He then took out his dex and started scanning Castle
The machop warily sidles over to the food. When Jackie doesn't make any moves, he begins to eat with relish.
--
Carrie grabs her camera and smiles. "We're all going on this quest thing together. We should remember this." She looked at each of her companions in turn. "Come on, let's all take a picture together."
Jackie politely waited for him to finish eating, grinning like a kid the whole time.
"Atta boy. See, I'm not a bad person, am I? I think you'll have fun with me and my friends!"
She had another brilliant idea.
"Oh, and check these out." Jackie rummaged through her backpack and got her dumbells out. Each was a rather modest weight.
"You can even work out while we're traveling! They might be too light for you, though." She gave a friendly laugh for comfort's sake.
"So, how 'bout a fresh start?"
---
"Hey, Mercer? Up for a picture with me and my friends?" She liked the idea, but Mercer wasn't the most sociable creature on the planet.
Puppy dog eyes are deployed.
The Machop cringes. He may be mostly over his shyness, but he doesn't seem to trust Jackie.
--
"Is there . . . Is there anything else you'd like?
"I just want you to trust me; I can take good care of you." She was beyond puppy dog eyes; in fact, she was holding back tears.
---
"It seems kinda strange to take its picture when it's not even awake, don't you think?" Jackie brushed the thought aside and patted Mercer as he came to her.
Ray did his best inquisitive pose.
Carrie set her bag on the ground and rummaged around in it for a few seconds, before pulling out a... somewhat battered tripod. She took a few moments setting it up (one of the stupid legs was stuck), and she clamped her camera down.
"Everyone get in position!" With a little help from her, Bob scrambled up onto her back and peered over her shoulder.
Machop winced.
"Machhh..."
--
She tossed the dud photo onto the ground, and fiddled with the timer. With a cry of "Five seconds!" she ran back to the group, posing next to Ray with a warm smile and her hands behind her back. Cubone raised his club into the air like a sword, leaning over her shoulder towards the camera.
Click.
The picture came out surprisingly well, she thought, for the crappy camera. All five of them (and their Pokemon) were clearly visible and in focus; she planned to have it copied in Cerulean and distributed to each of them.
"Uh, guys.. Can we hold on for a little while? I have to go back to the Pokemon Centre."
"Yeah. I don't like taking such a big detour so soon. For all we know, Team Rocket could be on their way to Cerulean already." Or already there. But saying that out loud... She didn't want to get the rest more nervous than they already were. Or herself.
