  • You can change. You can.
Seasons of Mists was probably the moment I realized why the people loved The Sandman. Between the different gods from millions of mythology to Beelzebub's imprisonment, it's just a very well done story.

Brief Lives is still my favorite story. And i still have a soft spot for The Wake.

    haven't gotten that far yet

Thought so. How far are you, anyway?

I'm currently waiting for A Game of You to get to my local library, and I've read all of the books preceding it.
  • Good people don't end up here.
"It didn't have much filler, but it was still really slow to start, just like Durarara!! Everything fell into place, but it took a little while."

Mmm... Durarara!! felt MUCH slower to me than Baccano!... I'll concede that filler in itself doesn't make something slow, though, so maybe a better comparison would be something more like Monster. No filler, but very... deliberately-paced.

I haven't seen Monster, so I couldn't compare, and I agree that Durarara!! was much slower to start, but Baccano! was still slow to start.
  • Durarara felt too slow at times due to all the MISUNDERSTANDINGS. Monster's was what you'd expect of a psychological (I know, I know, but I think it might apply here) mystery-thriller.
  • I have not seen any of these shows that you're all talking about... >.>

Though I do agree that Persona 4 had a very slow start.  I don't think that was really a problem, since I enjoyed that part of the game, but still, having like 3-4 hours of story stuff before the actual gameplay starts is pretty excessive...

  • They're somethin' else.
Ok, I'm at ep 6 of Baccano!

Still convoluted as fuck all, but I like it.

    Durarara!! was slow paced?

    ^ Very.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
    At times, definitely.
  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
I found Baccano slower but that could be because I actual could tell what the hell was going on in DRRR!! during the first couple episodes.

I am asking because I watched it whole and didn't feel it slow paced at all...but then again, I am me.
