I was to be innovative and creative with my work, but a semi-quick google search shows me that someone has already beat me to it on pretty much everyone of my ideas.

Creating is like a cookbook, all the ingredients have been found, but there's always a new to splice them together.

Also there's cooking(execution) too, and even serving temperature(atmosphere)

You
can boil down your work to it's basic ingredients and see it for
something mass-produced and useless, or you can realize that it's going
to contain elements that have been used over and over again and try to
cook it in a way that's unique and not seen before.

Part of the solution is knowing the problem, and with this thread, it's obvious you know the problem exists.

You're talking about writing, I assume? It's just that no one ever complains about this when they're learning to draw. They just worry about technique. They don't worry about drawing something new, just about drawing something well. Be the same way. Don't worry about making something original; concentrate on making something that's yours, and doing it well.
