360 vs PS3

  • Really, my original post was somewhat in jest. I don't expect most anyone to be able to blow 1000+ on consoles.
  • We have a Wii, DS, PS2, PSP (first one was stolen, I broke the second one and we're now on our third, which my Father bought and I paid for wheeee I feel good), PS3 (first one was stolen) and Sovereign.

I use all of these except the Wii and DS frequently. Wouldn't you know it, my Mother bought the Wii for the "family" (90% certain she just saw something she wanted and bought it despite knowing full well I wouldn't use it on principle and Dad's, well, lazy) and we got her the DS for her birthday a few years ago.

The Wii has an absolute maximum of 6 hours total playtime. The DS somewhere in the mid-100s because I played 358/2 Days and Tomb Raider: Underworld on it, coupled with her playing Impossible Mission one time.

Compare to the 210-odd hours I've spent on Dissidia; Duodecim on PSP alone.

No, I don't know where I was going with that either.

Yeah, I'm seventeen and have a job now. I have to get that shit myself.
  • You can change. You can.
I'll probably get a jobe for the remainder of the year, so i get to buy my next string of games.

the good thing is that i don't have to support myself, so the money goes exclusively to my own leisure, i guess.

    ^ This. All of it.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
    ^^Same here.
  • I need to get a job this school holiday =/
  • Kichigai birthday!!
Wii master race and oh God I can't keep a straight face.

No, actually the Wii is pretty good, and I'd prefer a good PC over a 360 or a PS3 anyway
  • You can change. You can.
I dunno, I don't like PC gaming these days. Nothing on it particularly calls my attention. and I can play most of the games that I am interested in in my PS3 just fine.

The wii...well, to be honest, the wii's only pro is its exclusives, and when they have shit like Other M in there...yeah.

I decided I'm going to go with the Xbox 360 for now. It puts more emphasis on the Online, which I want, and I don't care about the bluray.

^You do know that Xbox Live is $60 a year right?
  • ^ I thought it was per month?

Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
^^ I think it's more than that now. Like, $15 a month or something.

Nothing really, I was just sayin'...

Oh by the way, try getting one of the newer models. The old 360s don't have a wireless network adapter built in, and you have to shell out like $40-50 for an external one.

Yeah, I would get a Slim.
  • You can change. You can.
I dunno, I'd say that a system that has free online playing seems to be the better choice.

I could be wrong, of course. And it's not like I play online much.
  • $80+ per session
You'd think that, but you have to factor in the number of people that play, the number of people that play with mics, the connection speed, the number of downloadable games, etc. Also, the Xbox 360 has more vibrant black light.

It's mostly about personal preference. Both consoles are good. I just think I want the 360 first, PS3 much later.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
^^I don't play online much either, other than BlazBlue but basically part of the payment is that 360 actually has a much larger online community.

Whether that's worth the cash is, of course, up to you.
