    You can list specs all you want, but here's a simple way.

    Take a piece of paper. Write down all the games on the PS3 you want.

    Then write all the games on the X-box 360 you want. 

    Subtract the difference and also factor in how much you want a Blu-ray player.

    That said, I actually think I'd prefer a PS3 if not for price differences and the fact that I have no money to pay for either right now.

    I mean, let's check my list of games I wanna play and see how many of them are PS3-exclusive and how many are X360 exclusive.

    I'd get a 360 (have had a PS3 for many years; old 40GB model) but I really only want Halo 3, ODST and Reach, and frankly I don't think three games are worth the money of buying an entire new console.

    There are a couple of fun games on the PS3 but nothing making me agonize over my decision. I also just prefer the X-box 360 because of my gorilla hands.

    At the time, I was playing Vidya off of a Cathode Ray Cancer machine, so the Blu-ray player wouldn't have been particularly useful.

    Most of us purchase our own consoles and thus have to prioritise, unless we were to commit our leisure time exclusively to video games. Splerging over $1000 on the main consoles, plus games, doesn't give us the efficient return because we'd essentially have no time to make effective use of all of them.

    Point is, the rest of us can't do that or are otherwise unwilling. When you're a child or in your mid teens, that's kind of okay. When you're out of high school and trying to make a life for yourself, buying expensive good out of your parents' wallets is self-demeaning and selfish.
