On the current topic, I am not sure why someone would really want to be moe. Maybe it is just a cultural difference or something, but I think the whole idea of other people seeing someone as moe suggests a certain paternalistic idea that one needs to be protected.

While I feel like that sense of protection can be good in some ways, I think it may ultimately mean ignoring a person's individuality and dignity for the sake of classifying him or her as just a cute person or as just "moeblob" instead of considering him or her as a multi-dimensional person.

I am probably reading too much into this though.
