My Apartment Complex hasn't turned on the soda machines for three days straight.

    Poot dispenser here
Wouldn't the switches be on the back?

Granted, a couple of high-school-age teenagers could probably shift it.

Or they could be burnt out.
  • You guys have vending machines in your flats? Wow.
  • We have two soda machines. Not as impressive as it sounds.
  • No rainbow star
Wait, Chagen, aren't you in the same time zone as me? What are you doing up so early (it is now 6 AM where I live)?
  • It was 7 for me when you posted that.

7 is when my dad and I leave for work/school.
  • No rainbow star
Ah, so not the same time zone
  • Well, given the problems I've had with the alarm system in my block lately, forgive me for being a bit unimpressed, Chagen. Having something bleep in the background all day is worse than having to walk to a shop if you feel like a Coke. I have to do that anyway.
  • That's not my point.

My point is that it should be trivial to turn on a damn soda machine. I'm not complaining because I can't get a soda, I'm complaining because this should be a triviao thing to do.

    Loser
    Chagen,

It might be a trivial thing to do, but maybe the person with the keys to the vending machine is sick or someone lost them or something. It probably is not that big of a priority anyway, so maybe rather than being a sign of laziness it is more a sign that the people running the apartment complex are preoccupied with more important stuff. That being said, I am probably giving your apartment complex too much of a benefit of the doubt.

As for what captainbrass said, it seems like if someone actually drinks soda regularly, buying it from a store is way more cost-effective anyway. I guess convenience would be something worth paying for, but I am not sure how much more convenient it really is to buy soda from the vending machine right next to your apartment rather than just to take it out of your apartment.
