    OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
    Aaaand...I can't actually find it.

Basically, the spoiler-lite version is that there's a cutscene-ish fight that plays out like a Pokemon battle. But at the end, the winner's demon picks the loser up by the head and lights him on fire.
  • No rainbow star
^ That sounds hilarious to watch
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Well...it's not. The reasons are why it's spoilery.
  • No rainbow star
    ...Odd
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Lemme put it this way: this is one of those games where you need to put in effort if you want all the characters to make it out.
  • No rainbow star
So I'd probably lose them all immediately :D

MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
You know, I don't think I'm going to finish Nocturne. I find the graphical style unappealing, the lacks the extreme character elements others had, and the lack of voicing on the PS2 of all things is pretty much unforgivable.

Does anybody have a reason I should soldier on?

^I lost half the fights on the first try. It really pushes you to either grind or be meticulous in your strategy. In Overclocked, I seriously beat the final boss thanks to luck and having a single member in the party that reflected certain attacks.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Haven't played it yet, I'm afraid. Or anything in the main series, for that matter.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
Nocturne was the first 'main' one to come to America, and I see why Persona has outshined it in popularity. It also feels a lot more like a traditional JRPG which might be appealing to some, but turns me off.
  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
Does anybody have a reason I should soldier on?

How utterly badass the game makes you feel towards the end? (Especially in the True Demon ending).
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
Feeling badass isn't exactly a rare feeling in games. Anything else?
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
    Huh.

Well, I guess when a franchise is composed of so many subseries, it's pretty much guaranteed that people won't like all of them. I mean, hell, Megaten has everything from tactical JRPGs to the upcoming fighting game to Catherine.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
Digital Devil Saga was also on the low side for me, mostly because of the JRPG feeling, but the characters and story were interesting enough for me to stick with it, even though I felt there was no reason for the protagonist to be an non-talking character.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
I haven't played DDS, but from what I've seen, it looks pretty cool story-wise.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
I think I would have liked it more if it were an anime or a light novel series or something.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
In other news, I got Innocent Sin today. I'm playing it now.

    The side-missions thing is odd.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
I was hoping the 3DS release would be Persona 2 since I haven't played it all yet, but evidently we need to make a stupid pun.

Still gonna buy it though... >_>

    OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
I'm hoping the 3DS release is P4, since I haven't played it yet.

Of course, it's confirmed for the Vita, isn't it?

    Hmmm...P5?

In other news, Innocent Sin gives you the side missions well before you're ready for them. I've been blazing through the game without grinding, and I'm about half the level I need to be to stand a chance against the weaker mooks here.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
^No, it's Persona 3 because Persona 3... DS! Get it?

It'll have both the stuff in the PSP and special edition though so that should be worthwhile.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Oh. Dammit, I already got P3P.

Which probably won't stop me from getting it anyway...
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
I can't wait to play a girl and work out my raging mancrush on Akihiko...

though I'd rather romance Aegis as one...

    OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Haven't played the girl version yet. I'll probably save that for the 3DS one.

Further adding to my frustration with Innocent Sin's side missions, apparently leaving them doesn't heal you, even though they're VR movie things and entering them does. What the fuck.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
    Atlus. They love your tears.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
The game has actually been pathetically easy otherwise. The enemies in the newest area are pretty weak but give a lot of XP.

No normal enemy has done more than 3 damage to anyone in my party yet.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
    I'm playing Persona 2 now too =D

I'm not very far in though.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
I beat Devil Survivor today on the Messiah ending. Which ending should I go for next, gaiz?

    OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
I played the PS1 version once with a translation patch on an emulator. Only got through the first boss, though. I'm currently well past the second.

^Escape. It's shorter and pretty interesting. Dammit, I still haven't finished Overclocked.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
Which boss is the second one?
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
The guy at the club place. You have the option of skipping him, I think, but I fought him anyway.

IJAM: Tatsuya going "sorry 'bout that" after killing a bunch of demons.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
    Oh. Yeah.

You're supposed to skip that fight, according to a friend. Later on in the game, the personas 'evolve' or something assuming you make the right choices, and skipping that boss fight is one of Michelle's prerequisites.
