What's your favorite work of fiction ever?
As in, your absolute favorite. No ifs or buts or except fors.
Comments
The original sound novels, not the anime.
A month and a half ago, I probably would have said the same thing that Juan did. But when I read Higurashi, I was drawn into it and connected with the story on an emotional level that nothing I'd read, watched, or played before had.
I'm not saying that it's objectively the best thing ever, because of how personal this kind of thing is, but it's what resonated most with me.
Only the Sith deal in absolutes!
That said, while I don't do favourites, I'll simply say the BIT.TRIP series because it's not as well-known, yet it was the series that convinced me that video games could be art.
my bitch.Can the answer be more meta? Because the Warhammer Fantasy setting is one I keep going back to due to its metafictional elements and its combination of original and traditional ideas.
However, one thing that I've consistently liked is Pokemon; just by going how much time I've put into it, and how I still like it after all these years.
Exactly. If you were gonna limit this to a specific medium I could make this easier, but across all mediums, from every time ever, oh fuck my brain doesn't even know when to begin.
Japanimation: Out of the recent stuff I've seen, I like Paranoia Agent. Of nostalgia, Ranma 1/2
Comics: I'm not too much into cape stuff,so I'll be patriotic and say Mortadelo y Filemón
Film: lol I dunno
Literachur: I like The Green Mile
Vidya Geims: Either Zelda Majora's Mask or Terranigma
Western Animation: Older stuff, The Simpsons or South Park. More recent, Adventure Time. I like a lot of this actually.
My tastes aren't that special,really.
Anime: K-On!!
Comics: Watchmen
Literature: The Dresden Files series
Video Games: Rock Band 2
Tabletop Game: Dungeons and Dragons
Don't have any favorites in any other form of media. And I don't believe in having a favorite anything, ever, but I have favorites in certain forms of media, and even the ones I have listed now may change.
I love you now.
Okay, breaking it down:
* Anime: tie between Ranma and the Dragonball mythos.
* Manga: Same.
* 'Merkin cartoons: He-Man and She-Ra (I consider them the same show).
'* Merkin comics: Either Thundermace or Chakan the Forever Man
* Pen-n-Paper RPG: Shadowrun 1st Edition.
* Literature: Back in the day I would've said either The Hobbit or The Lord of the Rings, nowadays not so sure.
* Movie: I dunno.
* Video Game: ..... Fuck, my brain esplode.
Did I forget any genre/medium?
K-ON!
Of course, very likely to change whenever, etc.
Fun fact - Merkin is also the word for a female pubic wig. Make of that what you will...
The film I seem to always end up going back to is Goodfellas and the TV series CSI. When I was still editing the wiki, half the examples I ever came up with seemed to be from one or the other.
For now I'll say The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.
But I have a feeling in less than two months, specifically 11-11-11, things will change, at least temporarily.
Defined by a chosen hero
a struggle of good against evil....
It'll be Batman: Arkham City won't it?
