    Because you can gun for a larger audience that way?

    Homestuck isn't exactly the thing you can read/watch/interact with with your little sister beside you (think Kamen Rider vs GARO).

    I don't know what either of those are, exactly.

    But that's not really why Homestuck is less accessible. It takes a ton of reading, lots of plot points to keep track of, and much more time before it hits the best parts.
