I feel sorry for these guys. They probably thought they only needed to combine the look of Modern Warfare with the gameplay of TF2 and they'd have an instant hit.

It wouldn't look so bad if they somehow broke up the endless deluge of grey, repeating textures.
  • It... doesn't really look all that bad, really.  It looks like... pretty much any other Korean f2p shooter.  Which isn't exactly a high standard of quality, but it still doesn't look terrible.
  • It's not as fun without Booby McTanktop and "RPG on the roof, get out of there!", though.

Let's not forget subjectivity, and how all of you guys are probably wrong, so whatever. It's probably going to be an okay game.
  • Even I'm wrong? :<
  • ☭Unstoppable Sex Goddess☭
Yes you are, because let's not forget opinions are opinions, and in the end they don't matter.
  • Glaives are better.
Was I the only one who saw the awful animations, awkward gameplay and bland character design?

I could design a better game. I'm serious.
  • Let's see you design a better game then.

    Troll Link's Face . Jpeg.
  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
Anyone can design a game, but implementation is another matter altogether.

Note as well that games must be designed with budget and time restrictions in mind, so what's great on paper might be too heavy a burden, even for a team of masterful programmers and artists.
  • Glaives are better.
    Challenge accepted.

It's a sci fi class based shooter with strong RPG elements. You've got the Trooper, a genetically enhanced super soldier, the Adept, a psychic warrior, the Stalker, a long-ranged combatant specializing in stealth, and the Engineer, a user of powerful technology.

    Special abilities:
Troopers have Sprint, Frenzy (increases damage) and Overshield (protects allies).
Adepts have Ethereal Form (a flying mist form), Telekinesis (grabbing an enemy and hurling them) and Warp (teleport).
Stalkers have Infiltrate (invisibility), Jump Pack and Terminate (a super powered shot).
Engineers have Regeneration (heals allies), Drain (saps shields) and Gun Drone (a robot that aids the engineer).

  • That's not designing a game Hatter, that's conceptualizing the design of a game.

That is not a pipe, so to speak.
  • Glaives are better.
    I know.

I also know that one could easily modify the Jedi Academy engine to create such a game.

One foot in front of the other, every day.
    So Mass Effect meets Borderlands.

Besides, that's not exactly a complete game design. The job of a game designer is essentially to do everything in the game, but in abstract. You put down all the game system and the mathematics that work behind the system; think of it as akin to creating a P&P RPG or board game that then has to be realised by programmers and artists and then made to work in real-time.

By the time the programmers and artists get their hands on your ideas, you've ideally done everything on paper during pre-production. After working out the entire system, every gameplay element, every obstacle for the player and every environment, your job is then to make sure that gets realised while the programmers and artists can also have creative input and work together as a unit.

The point is that you can't just put down a game idea with some basic details and say, "this is going to be awesome". Anyone who's played games can have ideas, but a game designer is required to design from the deepest, most basic level and then work up to a final product that actually hides most of the hard work you did.

    Edit: Ninja'd.
  • Glaives are better.
I guess I'll stick with CRPGs.
  • Glaives are better.
    That post gave me diabetes.
  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
