The shooting segment at the end got made out to be a gigantic, tedious slog. It takes like, five minutes, maybe more if you really suck at it.

I suppose they mean that in the context of a game with very little shooting, having a longer, mandatory shootout is jarring.

But there are similar shooting segments scattered throughout the game. It didn't feel jarring at all.

It was a pretty dumb way to end the game, regardless. I was expecting the final boss to be a criminal with a hard tell or something.

So? It's not like anything else L.A. Noire did was new. Why worry about ending a game the same way a relatively niche title did?
