Without playing the approval or disapproval up...
... wouldn't you folks agree that the larger a population grows, the stricter the rules become and the more the letter of the law is favoured over the spirit of the law? That a larger, less personal community will be governed more systematically and with less provision for individual quirks than a smaller community?
This is somewhat about TVTropes... but applies generally too.
And please guys, don't lay into me for making a political topic. At least I'm not hijacking someone else's.

^ Yup. Pretty much what I'm getting at. And pretty much why I hate huge populations. One ceases to be a person and ends up a statistic, and I don't know how anyone could be ok with that.
I would agree that it is related to the per capita provision of resources.
