    It's not a problem since a majority of the fans of TV Tropes don't even know such threads exist and prefer to pimp their favorite works' page.

    And since sympathy to them it's optional, it's not like it's a requirement to give them sympathy. You could just tell them to rub some dirt on it and man up, although people will get angry about it.

    You're missing the point, it's not that he didn't try, it's that he's the only one who's loud about it. These things are very personal, and people are unlikely to keep you updated on their progress.

    I've been drinking, I'm tired, and now I get to stand around for no reason because my house manager person is an emo and needs to vent.... whenever I hear people "hating" something on the internet, I dismiss it because most people who "hate", tend to do so for petty reasons

    Well, some of them might be (hell, when it comes  to some people, I'm sure they are). But "tone" is an incredibly vague thing, particularly in text communication, it's usually good form to not jump into assumptionland.

    I haven't even read the thread, and I already know there's something wrong with it...

    mostly because I already know of the mentality that's allowed exist in Tvtropes...

    You saw it in Troper tales... you see it in that Thread...

    but even rooting that stuff out isn't gonna be enough for the people who want to hate it.
