  • Woki mit deim Popo.
I guess you haven't been keeping up with the stuff that has happened.
  • Well, I was gone for a few days, or a couple of weeks or however long I was gone for. How am I supposed to keep up with all of this?

    ...Besides, it's all GL's fault.

Considering I was gone for the entirety of that shitstorm, no. I have not.

    ^ .__.
    <_<
    >_>

  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
I actually missed that particular shitstorm myself, but I knew to begin with.

    Has friends besides tanks now
Count yourself lucky you weren't there for that shitstorm. I was the only moderator online, so I had to deal with it all myself, and I didn't handle it as tactfully as I could have. But yeah, I knew well before either of them.
  • You can change. You can.
-went to play Magic and test a new deck-

-notices that Vivi has been Banned and nothing said here makes no sense.-

    Well, isn't that lovely.

Lol, Spanish and its multiple negatives.
  • You can change. You can.
  • That sentence structure would still be wrong if said in Spanish, and for some reason I'm wondering which MtG deck would cause that mistake.

Still, I followed the shitstorm but still didn't know that Vivi was Saturn.
  • >Whenever I read true art tropes all I see is 'I don't like something critically acclaimed and this is my way of getting back at people who study the medium making me feel stupid.'

See also: Any defense of a Michael Bay film ever.

Or, as I put it, "I failed high school English and I use film critics as surrogates for my old teacher".

  • So, everything said here makes sense?

I quite enjoyed Final Fantasy: the Spirits Within.

Though I don't really remember it much.
  • You can change. You can.
Nada de lo dicho aqui no tiene sentido.

    Hmm, you're right. Anyway, it's just me and my double negatives. Forever Alone. ;_;
  • Just going to pop in and out cunning linguist style with this thought.

Art is a term to describe creative works. I think that there is an acceptable definition on its own. It's pointless to narrow the definition to only "good" art because that carries the problem of including wildly different concepts about the quality of art in the definition, and I believe this doesn't serve to exclude works that are fundamentally different.

    ...

    How?
  • Final Fantasy: The Spirits within wasn't actually that bad a movie.

It was just a bad FF movie.

Which from a certain perspective, could be said to be a good thing lol
  • no longer cuddly, but still Edmond
Friends, art debates have been rendered pointless, because the purest expression of art has already been made.

That expression is Raiden. If the purpose of art is to expand one's consciousness, I can think of no better example. It lures you in with its profound simplicity and seemingly mindless concept, and then throws a bunch of bullets at you. And as you dodge and weave your futile struggles to not lose another life become a metaphor for the constant state of living, wherein sometimes you fail and sometimes you thrive. The way you lose all your power-ups on death is an allegory for how a person can have everything and lose it all to a little bit of bad luck or an inept decision, and the motif of extra lives echoes the Buddhist theme of reincarnation in which you contemplate your failure before being returned to life.

And you keep playing, keep having bullets thrown at you and living these metaphors and going through buddhist reincarnation cycles, until finally, you understand. You've attained the state of higher consciousness. You have risen above your brothers for you now see clearly the calm between the storms. Raiden has become your chakra, your focal point through which you are guided on the road to life. Once you understand its message you can never fail at anything, ever again!

Also level one has some pretty sweet music.

@DYRE: I don't really remember, to be honest, but it probably came from a lot of not knowing what was going on yet still getting sucked into the feeling of the movie.

...hey, it worked for the last several episodes of Evangelion!
  • no longer cuddly, but still Edmond
Yeah, Evangelion is art too. But not as art as a good round of Raiden!

    Leonardo da Windows Flight Simulator?
  • no longer cuddly, but still Edmond
Hmmm, possibly. Sadly I actually don't play many flight sims. I tend towards RPGs and platformers really.
