    Vivi, the only reason why Casey Anthony wasn't given a guilty verdict was because Florida is a capital punishment state, and the jury didn't believe that circumstantial evidence - even an assload of it, all practically pointing towards Anthony and yelling "SHE FUCKING DID IT" - could justify the inevitable death sentence.

    Even if the circumstantial evidence looks concrete,  I'd rather know for certain before I sentence a possibly innocent woman to death.

    Well, yeah, but I don't see how it is bad to equate human with goodness as long as you also realize that the use of the word comes from a romaticized vision of humans and it refer more to what a human should be than what a human is.

      That's not enough reason to convict someone. If history has taught us anything it's that things are not always what they seem. If they can't give us one shred of actual evidence, it would be a miscarriage of justice to convict her.

    ^^^Honestly, what happens is not "white pretty women get off too easy" but rather "everyone else gets off too hard".

    The criminal justice system has such a high burden of proof for a reason. If we're not absolutely sure someone is guilty, we shouldn't be convicting them of anything.

    Casey Anthony wasn't murdered because there is no rule 34 of her.

    You call the presence of chloroform and decaying hair in her car not evidence? You call the retrieval of numerous internet searches from her personal computer on how to make chloroform not evidence? You call the presence of house hold products found at the murder scene that matched products found in her house not evidence?

    What? I suppose that those are ALL just plants.

    She practically confessed to the crime in writing.

    That's evidence that:

    1) There was a dead body in her car, that was probably but not definitely the body of her daughter.
    2) She wanted to make chloroform.
    3) Nothing at all.

    None of that is evidence that she murdered her daughter. You need that inference to convict her.
