Where's my box set of those movies...?" "Umm, how about an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation?" "Eh, Star Trek is a thing I only watch when I want to remember how good Doctor Who is." "Is that why you have all seven seasons?" Edmond did a double-take. "Umm, well, that's..." Then Twilight Sparkle walked into the room. "Hey Edmond--" Konata said "Go away, he hates Americans!" "I'm not American, I'm Equestrian!" and then Twilight did a double take and smirked "Oh, are we having this discussion again?" Konata nodded. "Oh, then I suppose Edmond won't mind if I keep his Quest for Glory Collection discs and manual. For that matter, I'm going to take this Ultima Collection, and these Tom Clancy novels. I'm sure he won't miss them!" "Hey!" Edmond waved his hand and tried to stop Twilight as she was already using her unicorn powers to apprehend the named items. Edmond facepalmed, and sighed. Then he turned to whoever is reading this, and said: "Give me credit here: Unlike everyone else on this forum, I'm secure and self-aware enough to make fun of myself."     Sure. Assume that I was too lazy to check while not bothering to check for yourself. Also, you're probably a little biased in terms of how easy it is to figure out having already learned it. I'm sure the first time seeing lol you wouldn't have known what it stood for even if it's obvious now.

    Anyway, they should have a definition up soon. I just tried submitting one. I cited your usage as an example.

    As for me deducing it, well, I didn't ask when I first saw it. I did ask for Lol back in the day, but that was because I was learning English back then, for whatever the hell that's worth.  (Yes, I'm aware of what you meant, but I think it's obvious that you're right about the bias, so eh, why address it)
