When you find someone attractive, sometimes it's hard to resist the urge to do everything you possibly can to please that person, even though your better judgment is telling you they do'nt deserve it and you'll regret it later.  Thus, the Boy Band (or in this case, Boy Idol) was born.

^^ I think there was a time when I liked them too, if only because of how incomprehensible they were.  One time a friend of mine showed me an NSYNC watch he owned which played a pixelated music video of them dancing around.  Weirdest piece of merch I've ever seen.

^ To me, JB is really just all the traits of a boy band condensed into one person.  There really isn't much of a difference.

The reason everyone likes them is BECAUSE they are clones of each other.

It's like if you find that one song you like, and you wish there were more that sounded like it. Which is why many Pop songs sound similar, because some people who like pop music doesn't like change, if you haven't noticed from the E! channel, who freak out whenever a celebrity or pop singer decides to do something else. Kind of like when Avril Lavigne transitioned from Pop back to her Emo/Alternative roots and they were all like BAWWWWWW.

Stephanie Meyer's Vampires can kill Blade, Le Stat  and Dracula (in almost every incarnation I know of, even Anne Rice vampires too), so they are pretty uberdick right now. Even the shit mook vampires can kick ass on a stupidly awesome level.
