  • Hmm, I'm not sure whether I prefer "he" or "she," since I guess I could be one or the other.

@ Trash Vortex: Well, apart from the fact that it's not possible since we don't have gendered 2nd-person pronouns (THANK GOODNESS), I'd say that the same set of words means different things to different people, so one person's mere linguistic conveniences may be another person's identity-shaking keywords.

In other news, I should warn myself for coming close to importing drama.

^I suppose. I was thinking about changing the way you speak depending on the gender of the speakee.

Can I be a mod? Please?
  • ^^ Importing drama here or at TVTropes?

Importing drama here from TV Tropes, by criticizing EI.

That said, if you think I ought to change anything about my post at the top of this page, please do let me know.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Speaking of which, should that Kino thread be locked? It's been fairly civil for the most part, but it makes me nervous...
  • If you're locking threads, could you lock that one I made about pronoun preferences? I'm kinda embarrassed by it now. And have been since a couple hours after I started it.
  • What is there to lock in this thread?
  • So I can see how a locked thread looks on this forum.
  • We don't have any yet?
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
    Not that I'm aware of.
  • So importing "this is why me and X troper aren't at good terms" is importing drama?

    I didn't know that.

I thought "This troper is an ass and you should think he's an ass too" or "hay everyone, X is an asshole, doncha agree?"
  • I'd start a thread called "HEY MODS! LOCK THIS!" with the first post reading "...so Tnoph can see what it looks like", but I want to be a mod someday so I have to prove I can do things other than shitposting 24/7.
  • I'd hate being a mod. It'd mean I'd have to actually read this crap.
  • I've changed my mind, please don't make me a mod.

Tnoph: that's borderline, and could go either way depending on where the responses go.

It could become a thread about how to work things out with that other person, or it could be a flamestorm.
  • So if everyone is in consensus that "troper x is worthless" the thread gets locked, but if everyone goes "troper x is a pretty cool gal" it stays, and if it goes "Troper x is a pretty cool gal, but shme is kind of a dick" is questionable?

    I didn't say consensus; I said flamestorm. :P

That said, it is highly recommended that you actually explain your points in the opening post.  A peaceful discussion about the issue is best--at best, not a discussion about the person in question but an attempt to analyze the problem in the interaction.  The worst outcomes would be either a pile-on or a flamewar.
  • yea i make potions if ya know what i mean
I wasn't on good terms with GMH for a long time either.

I am still unclear on exactly my relationship with him is.

Anyway, we're here, we're queer/bi/trans/ace, get used to it.
  • OH YEAH

    OH YEAH!

@ MFDY: My main thing about you was that you changed nicknames often, and frankly speaking, I can't do a darn thing about it, and you're far from the only one, and there are people with tons of sockpuppets anyway.  So, as I've said before, I don't really care.
  • Re: Gender Pronouns: People can call me whatever. He, she, they, it, I'm cool with it all. I honestly don't see the big deal about getting so riled up when someone refers to you by a gender you don't want them to. I mean, I can get why it'd make people mad, but still, it's not worth it.

I personally take it as a compliment about my ability to appear gender-neutral when people refer to me using the wrong pronoun set.
