I think that sounds kind of unfortunate. I would make sure to point out how you appreciate how she is so supportive of your hobbies (if you have not done so already), but stress that she probably would not like it there and that you would feel bad about that. That way, it makes it seem more like you are looking out for her interests rather than your own.

I guess you could be considered a type of Anomalocaris that is rejecting it's previous kind in an attempt to evolve into a different species. No matter what you do with your personality tags or what you declare yourself, if you want to portray yourself as an COMPLETELY RESPECTABLE PERSON WITH LOTS TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE WORLD, then the people will act accordingly.

In other words you can call yourself an otaku all you want when you stop acting like a weeaboo. Also, otaku is a meaningless buzzword and the fact that you even have to use that word also sends up weeaboo flags. Anime fan, Touhou fan, or whatever else is a perfectly acceptable alternative.
