/b/ trolls a Texan radio host. Hard.

  • Problem, chuggles?
  • Persecution complexes for everyone! Seriously, you'd think radio hosts would have savvied up to mass prank calls by now and just shut down the show for the day. Playing along or getting angry both feeds the attention of the bored /b/tards, the best tactic is to just let it blow over.

  • Maybe if Texans weren't so damned full of themselves and their state the rest of the country wouldn't make fun of them so much.
  • a little muffled
    > implying it's only Americans who make fun of Texas

I am Dr. Ned who is totally not Dr. Zed in disguise.

Yup, Texas has such a stereotype abroad as well.

    > implying non-stereotypical Texans don't make fun of their own state

(I don't do it all the time, but I do it.)

    > I don't need to laugh at myself over something that hurts the reputations of my fellow Texans.

Dude, Chagen, so many people throw insults around willy-nilly.

While I don't endorse it, I will say that you should learn to not get so worked up about it.

I do feel a tad bit sorry for this radio host, but he could have handled it WAYYYYYYY better.  He's a radio host; he should know how to laugh with these pranksters.

And by the way he reacts to his berserk button (being called a racist) I can tell that there's history behind these shenanigans.
  • I am Dr. Ned who is totally not Dr. Zed in disguise.
I don't get why he kept using Melting Pot of Friendship as a phrase, it just seems a bit off.
  • Glaives are better.
    He mad.
  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human
He's not a very friendly Melting Pot of Friendship.

Also, yeah, he's pretty clearly a racist.  He even plays guess the accent.

Not to mention that "have some friends who just happen to be [race]" is the perfectly WRONG way of stating that he's not a racist.

Oh wow, he has multiple berserk buttons.

    Another one is Canada.

Yet another one is homosexuality.  Of course, this is the easiest one for trolls to exploit.
  • Canadia.

    Good point.
  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human
...he really, really needs to learn how to deal with pranksters.

That said, yelling "II'MMM AAAA NIIIIIIIIIICE GUUUUUUYYYYYYY!!!!!" is...not particularly convincing.

IJAM: Trolling him with Cirno's Perfect Math Class

In fact, they should all call in to ask him whether one plus two equals nine, and asking whether he thinks nineball is an idiot.  And whether he is baka.

Does he literally ask for "lulz" in his Radio Graffiti segment?

...permission requested, to say that he's asking for it.
  • Still not sure why these trolls haven't been arrested yet.

I am Dr. Ned who is totally not Dr. Zed in disguise.
Because making fun of Texas isn't a crime?
Because it would take a lot of effort/be unlikely to actually press charges for any of them?
  • ʍɥɐʇ po ʎon ɔɐll ɐ ɾoʞǝ ʍıʇɥonʇ ɐ dnuɔɥlıuǝ
Because the trolls haven't broken any law worth going after?
  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human
@Chagen: What is there to arrest them over?  What laws are they breaking?

Also, I just listened to three videos (from the 17th, the 20th, and the 21st), and in NONE of them do the troll callers imply that all Texans are racist.  They only ask Ghost why he in particular is racist.

    Has friends besides tanks now
Yeeeeaaah . . . listening to each video, I can say, with absolute certainty, that he had it coming.

And Chagen, aside from playing "Fuck You Texas" to bug him, they're pretty much exclusively picking on him.

And OH GOD I'M STILL LAUGHING.

And did he really just call someone a "cock-eyed Russian" for singing "Dragostea Din Tei"?

And I'm still not sure if this is legitimate. I think it is, but part of me really doesn't want to believe it is.

There's so much memetic potential here.
  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human
The Fuck You Texas would have me laughing even if I were a Texan.  It's just so silly.

FYI I almost ended up living in Texas.  Just that my dad didn't like the job he had in the DFW area.
  • HAW. Only a texan judge wouldn't throw such a case out.
  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human
    ...
  • Glenn: That doesn't matter. They asked if he was racist because of the stereotype.
  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human
How do you know they did it because of the stereotype?

Based on various comments of his I can conclude that he is racist after just listening to him for a grand total of a bit more than half an hour.
  • I didn't watch the video, because, unlike the vast majority of today's horrendously depraved society, I do not gain pleasure from watching others suffer.

So if we were to go through all your posts we'd never see the slightest glimpse of schadenfreude?

Also he had a guess the minority game, and frequently used racial epithets.
